The Backrooms - My poorly written Review 7/10

Cinematography- very great gave you a since of dread looked like the backrooms I had though I would see . The rooms lead to some Erie atmosphere that I think is what the movie was going for .

Set Design- buy far the stand out looked great .

Atmosphere- gave you a since of dread what I feel you would have in a place of unknown .

Editing - was sharp taking place in the 80s and 90s giving us that analog feeling was very good prolly the best of its kind .

Lead Performance - well I would say we have two leads but I will say the true lead is Chiwetel Ejiofor , I know him from 12 years a slave, dr strange , four brothers im not his biggest fan but in backrooms he prolly gave the best performance I’ve every seen him give I honestly could see where he was coming from in life and why where the story went he made his choice. He was very convincing.

Supporting Cast - truly only 3 and they did great the boyfriend and girlfriend that work at the furniture story where great and did what they needed to do.

Story - I went into this not watching the series the director created so I’d not know all the lore / creepy pasta or games , with that being said I learned all I needed to learn of the backrooms and what it’s doing . I enjoyed the background on both of our leads and feel the story was well written for a two hour long film but would have been better as a tv series. You do have to use your brain 🧠and pay attention to the film and the leads to understand what’s going on. You can not just shut your brain off and lean back. A line that will stick and and stay with me is when our leads explain the back rooms (Imagine describing a dog to someone who has never seen one before, and then asking them to draw it. )

Structure - very well paced the two hours felt like 30 minutes the ending did feel rushed

Dialogue - The Actors and writers did what needed to be done it was not bad or great but you will remember lines. ( You know what else is great we can eat them too …)

Enjoyment - I felt it was tooooo short / I had a great time, i had the since of dread . found myself very curious throughout the film . I did jump once . I also found myself wanting more though
