I genuinely appreciate this one I received from one of our customers. It serves as a reminder to take a closer look, as you might miss that someone has used a marker/crayon on the card if you don’t take a moment to examine it.
Removing crayon and most markers is quite easy with card spray or card polish.
Thank you all for sharing your valuable feedback with us. 💪🏼🙌🏼
I removed blue ink from this card via card soak, sent it off, and the team at Beckett Grading Services clearly agreed—it came back with a clean BGS 4 grade.
Remember, these cards didn’t come out of the pack with marker on them. Removing foreign material isn’t altering; it’s un-altering.
I’m always happy to teach you how to save your own vintage treasures.
When a collector sees a graded card sitting inside a heavily scratched holder, it’s an immediate turnoff. The card might be a gem, but the presentation ruins it. Scratches are easy to fix, and clearing up that plastic makes your card sell significantly faster.
To prove it, I literally took steel wool to a slab during last night’s YouTube live just to be dramatic—then buffed it right back to a crystal-clear finish in under two minutes using Recovery.
There’s zero reason to let a scratched holder hold back a great card. Clear up the plastic and let the card do the talking.
If you missed the steel wool test, head over to my YouTube channel to watch the full playback.

I don’t know how weird stuff like this comes on basketball cards.
When I get a question sent to me saying what do you think I should do? I suggest keeping it simple and starting with trying Card spray and or polish.
If it’s something stuck on the surface, one of those is gonna take care of it.
Keep up the awesome work

Scratched slabs are killing your sales. 🤝✨
