🔋 Quick Recharge! Our First Winter Hatch Update 🐣



Hey everyone! We are taking a quick break to get the battery back to 100%. This is our first-ever attempt at a winter hatch, and so far, so good! Two chicks are officially out, but the rest of the squad is taking their time.

Based on our experience from previous years, we’ve checked the remaining eggs and don’t expect the next baby chick to hatch for at least another hour. We want to keep the incubator closed to maintain that crucial humidity for hatching during the winter chill.

While we wait, we need your help! Since this is a cold-weather crew, we want to give them winter-themed names. Start thinking of your best ideas (We want to continue the tradition of having our viewers name our birds) and bring them to the chat when we're back.

Hatch day is officially here! 🐣 Our first baby chick has finally emerged from the incubator on day 21. If you're currently hatching chicken eggs or looking for incubation tips for beginners, you know the excitement of that first "peep!"

We have several more pips and rocking eggs, so the rest of the flock should be joining us shortly. Whether you are using a Nurture Right 360 or a DIY setup, the wait is the hardest part!
For those wondering what to do on hatch day, I’ll be sharing our full brooder setup and chick care routine once they all fluff up. Stay tuned for the full transformation from wet hatchlings to fluffy baby chickens!


Key Hatch Day Reminders:



Maintaining humidity is critical during the "lockdown" phase.

Wait for the fluff: Chicks can stay in the incubator for up to 24-48 hours after hatching.


Watch for pips: Look for small cracks in the remaining eggs!
