Governor Umo Eno attended the public presentation of the book “My Life and Journalists Hangout” and the 60th birthday celebration of renowned media personality, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, Director of News at Television Continental, held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.

Eminent Nigerians present at the event included His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President; among other distinguished personalities.

On the Governor’s entourage were Prince Enobong Uwah, Secretary to the State Government, Engr. Uwem Okoko, President General of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative; Mkpisong Frank Archibong, Dean of Commissioners and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, Commissioner for Information, and Prof. Eno Ibanga, Commissioner for Works.

Eket Senatorial District stakeholders have installed Chief Assam Assam as new political leader.
He is a former Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice in Akwa Ibom State who was later appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Russia.
Chief Assam was Director General of campaigns for Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi governorship election in 2023.
Before Assam’s enthronement, the position of political leader in Eket Senatorial District was held by Chief Nduese Essien, former Chairman of the South-South Caucus in the House of Representatives.
Chief Nduese who is now an octogenarian has reportedly chosen to be a statesman and not belong to a political party.
