It's been 2 years since we released the HIDARI pilot film! We are truly grateful that so many people have watched it and that we've received warm messages from all over the world❤️‍🔥 Thank you so much for sharing your love for HIDARI and for your enthusiastic comments eagerly awaiting a feature-length version - we read every single message!

As for our team’s progress, earlier this year, our Director Kawamura completed a script for a full-length film! Since our production partners are not only in Japan but overseas as well, we have prepared the script in both Japanese and English. With the script now finished, our producers have begun reaching out to various companies. While it may still be a while until our partners are finalized and actual production kicks off, the team is diligently running various simulations so we’re ready to start at any moment. We’ll continue to work hard to share good news, so please keep looking forward to that day🤞🏼

チームの状況としましては、今年に入り川村監督が長編映画を見据えた脚本を書き終えました！製作パートナーは日本のみならず海外も見据えているため、今回の脚本は日本語と英語の両タイプ制作しております。そして、脚本が完成したので、プロデューサー達は様々な会社にコンタクトを取り始めています。パートナーが決定し、実際に制作に入るまでにはまだ時間がかかりそうですが、いつでもスタートできるよう、チームは粛々と様々なシュミレーションを進めています。いいニュースを報告できるよう尽力してまいりますので、引き続きその日をお待ちいただけたらと思います！

「渋谷パイロットフィルムフェスティバル」の開催決定！

HIDARIチームとKILLTUBEチームがコラボし企画した、パイロットフィルムだけを集めた映画祭「渋谷パイロットフィルムフェスティバル」の開催が決定しました🔥

私たちはパイロットフィルムとは「この映画を作りたい！」という作り手たちの情熱がもっとも凝縮された、一番刺激的な映画の原石だと考えています。最近では、HIDARIのように制作した映像をYouTubeなどで公開するケースも増えてきましたが、パイロットフィルムはあくまでテスト映像であるため、これまでなかなか一般の方々の目に届く機会がありませんでした。そこでこの度「渋谷パイロットフィルムフェスティバル」を開催することで、もっとたくさんの人にこの熱い映像たちを観ていただきたいと思っております！

本イベントは、名作から最新映画まで貴重なパイロットフィルムを20作品上映する他、様々なプロセスで映画作りにチャレンジし続けている多彩な登壇者によるトークイベントで構成されています。
HIDARIはプログラム3,6,7にて上映され、プログラム6では川村監督が登壇し、KILLTUBEの栗林監督と共に、それぞれがパイロットフィルムを作ることにした経緯やパイロットフィルムの価値や可能性について語ります🎤

The HIDARI and KILLTUBE teams have come together to present an exciting new film festival, the Shibuya Pilot Film Festival, showcasing a collection of pilot films only🔥
We see pilot films as the most distilled form of the creators’ passion—the raw, powerful spark of the films they aspire to make. Recently, more pilot films, like HIDARI, have been shared on platforms such as YouTube. However, as pilot films are typically test footage, they’ve rarely had opportunities to reach general audiences until now.
This event will feature 20 remarkable pilot films, from renowned classics to fresh new works, alongside talk events with a diverse lineup of speakers who are continuously pushing the boundaries in filmmaking. HIDARI will be screened in Programs 3, 6, and 7, and in Program 6, Director Masashi Kawamura will take the stage with KILLTUBE's Director Kazuaki Kuribayashi to discuss their inspiration for creating pilot films and the unique value and potential these films hold🎤

We are truly grateful for and uplifted by the warm comments we continuously receive through YouTube and social media. Thank you so much for your passionate ongoing support!! Today, we would like to provide an update on the current status of HIDARI and share with you our activities towards the adaptation into a full-length film.

Having been screened in 17 countries to date, our pilot film, HIDARI, is scheduled for showings in the following three countries this fall and winter! For those of you living nearby, we would be thrilled if you could enjoy it on the big screen with great sound!

We consider these numerous and joyful screenings as part of a PR campaign to make HIDARI known to more people. Behind the scenes, the team is working tirelessly on the specific task of adapting it into a full-length film. As mentioned on our Kickstarter page, creating a feature film requires a substantial budget and time investment. As a first step, we are actively engaging in conversations and pitching to various studios and production partners to secure the necessary budget. Fortunately, quite a few companies are intrigued by HIDARI's visual appeal, thanks to our existing pilot film. However, the key question they ask us is about the script for the feature-length version. What kind of story will it be? What kind of drama will unfold? With the help and support from many directors who have experience in feature films, we are intensively revising and refining numerous drafts, led by our director, Masa. Based on this new script, we are also diligently moving forward with the production of character sketches and concept art.

Our plan is to have these completed by the end of September, and then in October, the director and producers will head to Hollywood to make their pitch once again. Depending on the outcome, we hope to be able to share the next phase of development with you all around the end of the year or the beginning of the new one.

Furthermore, we're in the process of planning a certain event in Tokyo this December! We expect to be able to share the details in November, so please follow our official X and stay tuned!

こういった嬉しい上映の数々は、より多くの方々にHIDARIを知っていただくためのPR活動だと考えて取り組んでいます。その裏で、チームは具体的な長編映画化のために日々汗を流しております。Kickstarterのページにも書かせていただいている通り、長編映画を作るためにはたくさんの予算と時間が必要となります。まずは予算を確保するべくさまざまなスタジオやプロダクションパートナーに営業をし、会話を続けています。HIDARIはパイロットフィルムがあるので、映像的に面白そうだ！と言ってくださる会社が幸いにも結構いらっしゃるのですが、その時に質問されるのが長編版の脚本になります。どういった物語になるのか？どんなドラマがみられるのか？既に長編映画などを手がけられているたくさんのディレクターの皆様にも助言や応援をいただき、それを川村監督を中心に何十稿も書き直しながら作り込んでいる最中です。この新しい脚本をベースに、キャラクタースケッチやコンセプトアートなどの制作も鋭意進めています。

予定ではこれらが9月中に一旦完成し、それを持って10月には監督とプロデューサーたちがハリウッドに出向き、改めてピッチを行う予定です。その結果次第では、年末年始ごろにはまた次の展開をみなさまに共有できるといいなと思っています。
