Dutch Gaming Authority Issues AML Directive to Unibet Operator


The Dutch Gaming Authority (Ksa) has issued a directive to Optdeck Service Limited, the company responsible for operating Unibet’s online gambling services in the Netherlands.
The regulator identified shortcomings in the operator’s anti-money laundering controls under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act (Wwft).


According to the authority, customer due diligence procedures and transaction monitoring systems were not being implemented effectively in practice.
The directive requires the operator to revise financial thresholds used to identify high-risk players and improve monitoring systems designed to detect suspicious financial activity.


The regulator will conduct a follow-up inspection after the remediation period to ensure the required compliance improvements have been implemented.
