We are an independent team dedicated to creating informative videos, reporting on a wide range of topics, from new innovations, to sustainable solutions and ancient ingenuity through the context of science, history & geography.
We are also a global community that supports impactful projects to heal the Earth. Our community cares deeply about the environment & with the support of our members we create regenerative projects across the world, such as turning degraded land back into native forests, installing edible gardens in schools and working with local custodians to preserve nature. 100% funded by our members & 100% goes directly to these projects. Happy Easter Monday to you all! 🌿🐣
It’s been a quiet two months on the channel, and I wanted to share why...
We have been boots on the ground filming a massive undertaking that combines 10 years of research into our upcoming Sahara series, we’ve been deep in the incubation phase.
But before we launch into the new desert engineering saga, I want to book-end our time in the Andes properly. We have some incredible updates on the Bolivia fundraisers!
How would you like to receive the final Bolivia update?

🐺 BREAKING: Wolf Pack Tragedy Shocks the Rewilding Community🚨
Earlier this year, the Leaf of Life team went on location to document the vital work of the Wildwood Trust and their European Bison rewilding programs. It was an experience that left us inspired, but also raised many questions.
As we moved through the park, the "message" felt complex: Is this a naturalistic zoo, or a true rewilding center? For some species, like the bison, there is a clear, triumphant path back to the wild. For others, the future is less transparent.
While filming, we spent time at the wolf enclosure. At first, they were difficult to spot—hidden perfectly against the leaf litter and thick brush. When they finally emerged, they were quiet and serene (as you can see in these stills I captured of two of the pack).
However, we were shocked and saddened to learn that this entire pack of five wolves—Odin, Nuna, and their three sons—was euthanized this week.
We wondered why weren't they just released? Why weren't they moved? Here is what we’ve found out:
The Trust reported an "explosive" breakdown in the pack's social hierarchy. In the wild, a submissive wolf would simply "disperse" (leave) to find new territory.
Although the enclosure was larger than most, it was still a finite space. With nowhere to run, the infighting became life-threatening. Because these wolves were captive-bred, they lacked the skills to survive in the wild. Furthermore, there are currently no legal avenues to release wolves into the UK. The Trust ruled out separating the wolves, stating that for such a highly social species, a life of "solitary confinement" would be a "living death" with no quality of life.
Seeing these majestic animals so peaceful earlier this year makes this news incredibly hard to swallow. It highlights a painful truth: even in the best captive environments, the complex social needs of "Apex" predators like wolves are almost impossible to meet when they cannot follow their natural instinct to disperse.
The Wildwood Trust is now reviewing its policy on keeping wolves. It’s a heartbreaking lesson, but one that must lead to a more transparent conversation about which animals truly belong in "rewilding" centers versus zoos.
Rest in peace to the Wildwood pack. 🕊️

🚨 $114 MILLION for ONE bridge? 🚨
While California’s wildlife crossing is still unfinished and $21 million over budget, other states have already mastered the art of building these for a FRACTION of the cost. 💸
Did you know:
✅ Utah built a massive success for only $5 Million.
✅ Washington finished theirs for $6.2 Million.
✅ Colorado built SEVEN crossings for $40 Million total.
So why is California’s project costing nearly $118 Million? Is it a "miracle" or a massive overspend? 🧐
Watch our full breakdown to see the 6 completed bridges that actually work:

Barren desert to lush forest in 8 years. 🌳💧
I wanted to share this specific project because it’s one of the most powerful examples of regenerative agriculture I’ve ever filmed. It’s not just about trees; it’s about sovereignty.
I’ve made some big improvements to the pacing of this video to get straight to the "how-to" of the ancient reservoirs and agroforestry systems.
If you have 12 minutes this Sunday, come see how 100 families are living completely off-grid with free water forever.

Seeing a community go from "compacted sand" to a "garden oasis" is one thing—seeing it happen because of your support is another.
We’ve hit nearly £3,000 raised so far! Our total project goal is £10,000, and we’re currently pushing for that £3,500 mark to kickstart the next phase of construction.
This video shows exactly where that money is going: reviving ancient engineering to fight modern poverty.
If you missed it, grab a tea and watch the transformation here:

WE DID IT! 🌿 > Huge thanks to this incredible community—together, we’ve raised almost £3,000 to help Caster and the women of Santa Rosa de Lima green their barrio!
We are on a sliding scale goal of £10,000 to complete the entire water reservoir and seed bank project. We are so close to our next milestone of £3,500.
If you haven't seen how these 2,000-year-old techniques are literally turning dust into an oasis, check out the video below. Every view helps us reach the goal! 💚

FROM THE HIGH DESERT TO THE SACRED VALLEY...
A massive welcome to the 116,000+ of you who joined us on our journey through the ancient high deserts of Bolivia recently! It’s been incredible to see so many people connecting with these 10,000-year-old agricultural traditions.
Many of you asked what happened next. After Bolivia, we traveled deep into the Peruvian Andes to find the direct descendants of the Incas.
While Bolivia showed us how potatoes are harvested, this film explores the "Survival Systems" that made the Inca Empire possible—including 1,000-year-old "Water Sewing" technology and the prehistoric trade routes of the sacred cocoa leaf.
If you loved the Bolivia documentary, you won’t want to miss this one. We’ve just repackaged it to focus on the incredible Ancient Agriculture & Survival Systems of Peru.
Let us know in the comments: Which ancient system fascinated you most—the Bolivian high-desert harvesting or the Peruvian water engineering? 👇

We uncover the hidden engineering of the Andes, exploring how 1000-year-old water tech infiltration allowed civilizations to thrive alongside the spiritual rituals of the Sacred Leaf, from the mushroom house, to the role lamas played in domesticating the potato. This is a look at how indigenous wisdom works with both the physical and spiritual world.
Witness the genius of the ancients and how these secrets are still alive today.

Sunday Coffee & Ancient Science ☕️🍄
If you are looking for a substantial documentary to watch with your morning coffee, this journey into the high Andes might change how you look at the ground beneath your feet.
Modern science is only recently "discovering" that soil is a living, breathing network of mycelium—the "internet of the soil" that connects plants and shares nutrients. But the indigenous guardians of the Andes have known about this sacred balance for thousands of years.
In this video, we explore a deeper level of agriculture:
Co-Evolution: Discover the unique native worms that have lived and evolved alongside these ancestral crops at 14,000 feet for millennia.
The Mycelium Connection: How the natives managed soil health as a living organism long before modern fertilizers were even a concept.
The "Living" Seed Bank: Why keeping these native potatoes in the ground (In-Situ) is infinitely more important than freezing them in a vault. A living seed bank continues to evolve with the soil and the changing climate; a frozen one is stuck in the past.
This isn't just about growing food; it’s about a 10,000-year-old partnership between humans, seeds, and the microscopic life that makes existence possible.
