Hello, friends and neighbours. I just wanted to address something I've been seeing lately, and I think it needs to stop.
Recently, I've seen a few instances of ageism in the comments section of my videos. I'm not going to stand for that, and I would urge all of us to do better.
The Brown'stone is a place where ALL are welcome regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or preferred pizza topping (I see you.🍍). I'm happy and proud to know you are all here, and I hope we can support each other as we work toward becoming the bass players we want to be.
So please... love your friends and neighbours. rich ✌🏾❤️
Hey there, friends and neighbours! One question that I always ask during my online lessons is this: Are there any other issues or topics you would like me to address?
I try my best to speak to bass players at every level in these video lessons, but I realize there are some topics I haven't covered (some intentionally, some because I haven't considered them). Let me know what you would like to see (or see more of) on this channel. Try to keep your suggestions as broad as possible so we can all learn and grow together. (The altered scale is fun, but that would leave a lot of your friends and neighbours behind.) Also, I would love to see a breakdown of where we all are in our development. Choose an option in the poll below, or type "Other" in the comment section and let us know where you're at.
Hey there, friends & neighbours! The Brown'stone is open for the month of October! Here's your chance to book a one-on-one online lesson with me, your friendly neighbourhood bass coach. Click the link below to visit my website and book a time that works for you. See you next month.
I wanted to check in with the beginners out there, especially those who have been going through the videos in the Beginner's Series. I'll be uploading a new lesson very soon focusing on right-hand technique, but I'd love to know how you're doing with the series and if there are any issues you might be dealing with that I haven't covered. (This will also let me know how I'm doing as your friendly neighbourhood online teacher.😊) Choose your answer in the poll below, and please feel free to elaborate by leaving a comment. You can also comment with "other" if none of the options address your particular issue. Thank you all for watching and supporting The Brown'stone.🙏🏾❤️
Peace & love to you, and all your friends & neighbours. rich
How would you rate the lessons on this channel, especially the beginner lessons?
The new video is up, but the numbers are WAY down. For some reason, this new video is not being pushed out to my friends & neighbours the way others have. In case you haven't seen it, you can watch the new video via the link below. Please be sure to click that Like button. Let's make sure this gets out to all the friends and neighbours. Thank you all so much.
I'll be taking on private students next month (June). MANY have asked, and now you can make it happen. Click the link below and book your private lesson with me today!
I really don't understand what motivates people to do and say things like this. Usually, I just delete and move on, but this was the worst on so many levels.
Maybe a neighbour. Not a friend. peace & love rich
Thank you for all of your wonderful support, especially regarding the future of this channel and the launch of the new website. Please bear with me as I work out a few details to make the site as clean and clear as possible.
For now, I'm happy to report that all available spots for private lessons in January have been taken (thank you! 🙏🏾). I'll be sure to let you all know the dates and times for private lessons in February soon. I can't wait to meet you!
Stay tuned, and be well. peace rich
P.S. Here's a question for you: what are you working on? (Me? I've been in the shed working on expanding my soloing vocabulary with more traditional Jazz language. It's truly kicking my behind, but I'll get there. 😊)
HEY THERE, FRIENDS & NEIGHBOURS. My sincere apologies for the truly HORRIBLE AI overdub that frankly ruined a video that took a great deal of work to begin with. I think I've fixed the problem with yesterday's video, and I'll make sure that TRASH is NEVER heard on this channel again. I am not impressed.
The first single from my new album NYAEBA is out TODAY, and I can't wait for you to hear it. Click the link below to hear my song UKUDLALA!
AND
Watch this space for the release of my second single, "HEART OF A LONELY WOMAN", next week on August 22nd. Spread the word, my dear friends and neighbours. You're gonna love this music. This is not your average electric bass album.
