Is this the end?

For the past 5 years I have been consistently creating content around pushing the limits of what’s physically possible on 2 wheels with the hopes of someday doing it as a career, but here’s the hard truth and where I’m at - People always ask, “Seth, where are you from and what do you do for a living?” So here’s my story - I’m from a super small town in North Carolina called Danbury (population 188). I work at a furniture store delivering heavy furniture and appliances (this is how I afford to eat). On top of my 9-5, I’ve hustled every side gig you can imagine from garage sales out of my van at events, flipping used cars, peeling bark, even raffling off my world championship trophy bike. The odds have always been against me not having parents pay for everything, so I knew the only option I had was to sacrifice. I didn’t go to college, drive a $2,500 van I bought off marketplace, live paycheck to paycheck, ignored injuries, no social life, and pour ever penny I make right back into the dream all in hopes of moving forward. At first glance, my long term goal with this seems unclear due to how many different disciplines I ride, but I think the answer is actually pretty simple -

1.) Create unique bike videos
2.) Get more kids on bikes

I’m going to be 100% honest with you guys, I’ve never felt this burnt out in my entire life. I wake up every day battling chronic pain from injuries that need surgery to fix, struggling with a prescription drug withdrawal, and honestly just the motivation to simply get out of bed… Maybe I am just procrastinating the inevitable. Maybe it is time to get a “real job”. Maybe this is where my book ends. I’ve never felt this feeling before. Giving up sounds so… selfish. So unlike myself. If you’ve made it this far I’m not looking for any sympathy or money. Sometimes it just feels good to vent from Danbury, because what’s the point of social media if I can’t be real with you guys? Life is hard, and pain without purpose sounds like misery… I just sold the bike I won from the Whistlin Diesel challenge to give this dream one more shot, and play the cards I’ve been dealt to keep going.
