I'm happy to announce the half Aussie/half 64C cases from my previous repair video have now been reunited with their matching counterparts. Thanks to Steve who got in touch after that video to let me know they had the other mismatched halves, and offered to send me the Aussie bottom half.

As I already have a complete Aussie 64 case, I opted to send them the Aussie top half so they could also have their own Aussie case. Each half probably crossed paths in South Australia on their journey across the country (which happens to be where these cases were made) and order has been RESTOREd.

Just a heads up for anyone waiting on the PS1 digital audio adaptors, the next batch is now in stock on the Tindie store! I know there were a lot of people on the waiting list so these may go quick.

Not trying to stir up FOMO here, that ain't me. If you miss this batch there will be more soon enough 😁

Happy new year! I hope everyone had a fantastic festive season. I will be back shortly with some new videos and a fresh layout. Also Australia Post has finally resumed shipping to Canada after the postal strike. So if any of you Canadians have been waiting to order something from the Tindie store: www.tindie.com/stores/theretrochannel/ it should now be possible. Apologies if there's a few things that are sold out but everything should be restocked in the next few days.

See you all soon!

Update on the C64 from yesterday's livestream

The flakey turned pin sockets are out, along with the soldered in GALPLA and the Kernal ROM.

New dual wipe sockets installed, and the average solder joints on the 74LS257 touched up.

GALPLA swapped out for the slim PLA. It's the same as the GALPLA just with one of the GALs mounted underneath. Thanks to‪@MyGeekyHobby‬for the design. And a side note for anyone making things designed to plug into an existing socket, PLEASE use round pin headers and not the chunky square headers - they are socket killers.

The reset button was removed and the hole covered up by a new power badge. And the reason for removing the Kernal? To put in a 4 Kernal switcher, which also doubles as a reset button - nice!

That's it for this machine at the moment. I need to get some more ARMSIDs and install my RF replacement V2 - coming soon (or available now for Patrons 😉)
