Formed in 2012 in Harford County, Maryland, The Deer Creek Sharp Shooters (DCSS) are five friends brought together by their love of bluegrass and a desire to push the limits of acoustic music. Since relocating to Colorado in 2016, the band has found its stride, blending traditional bluegrass roots with playful, high-energy performances.
Named "Best New Bluegrass Band" by Denver Westword in 2022, DCSS has played renowned festivals like WinterWonderGrass Steamboat, Palisade Bluegrass and Roots, The Ramble Festival, and Tico Time Bluegrass Festival. Their 2023 debut album, Crik, showcases their musicianship, storytelling, and quirky charm.

I think everyone in the band didn’t realize the significance of the line “I’m going to Ramble, get back to where I came” until we were singing it. We are beyond grateful for The Ramble Festival giving us the opportunity to bring the band home and be part of such a special event and community. Thank you everyone for all the support.
