Bihar Ki Baat
भारत के सबसे गौरवशाली इतिहास वाले राज्यों में से एक बिहार की गिनती आजादी के बाद 50 और 60 के दशक तक देश के अग्रणी राज्यों में होती थी। लेकिन, 1970 के दशक के बाद से बिहार विकास के मानकों पर धीरे- धीरे पिछड़ता गया। इसकी एक वजह राज्य में 1967 से 1990 के दौरान की राजनीतिक अस्थिरता रही। इस 23 साल के कालखंड में 20 से ज्यादा सरकारें आईं और गईं, जिसकी वजह से विकास सरकारों की प्राथमिकताओं में कहीं पीछे चला गया। 1990 के बाद राजनीतिक स्थिरता तो आई लेकिन, 1990 से 2005 तक की सरकार ने सामाजिक न्याय को अपनी प्राथमिकता बताया। इस दिशा में कुछ सफलता भी मिली लेकिन 2005 आते-आते बिहार विकास के सभी मानकों पर देश में न्यूनतम स्तर पर पहुँच गया।

गांधी आश्रम में अपने एक दिन के उपवास के बाद प्रशांत किशोर ने अगले पांच वर्षों में अपनी आमदनी का 90% हिस्सा और अब तक अर्जित सारी चल-अचल संपत्ति में से दिल्ली में एक घर को छोड़कर सब कुछ जन सुराज के बिहार सुधारने के अभियान को डोनेट करने की घोषणा कर दी।
साथ ही लोगों से अपील की कि अगर आप बिहार में सुधार चाहते हैं तो जन सुराज को अपनी क्षमता के अनुसार या कम से कम ₹1000 डोनेट कीजिए।
