Ladies and gentlemen 😍🥰: These pictures 📸 basically sum up the successful @africandiasporatrip and @bachatatrip to the beautiful Dominican Republic, the very FIRST HOME OF AFRICANS in the Americas. On this trip, we celebrated and immersed in the roots, heritage and culture of the Dominican Republic and Africa.

It was amazing that a few weeks after I launched the African Diaspora Trip to Dominican Republic, @afronation / @afronation.us announced that they will host their first mega event in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for the very first time 😱🤩🔥🥳🌍🇩🇴. My mind was blown at how God aligned everything. First African Diaspora Trip to Dominican Republic around the same time as the first Afro Nation event in Punta Cana, DominicanRepublic. See how God works!!! 🤩😍

For those of you who have never heard of Afro Nation, check out their Instagram page and Google them. Every person of African heritage should attend Afro Nation at least once in their lifetime. This was my first time attending. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to be part of history, when a MAJOR African Diaspora event took place in Dominican Republic for the first time ever!

It was an honor to meet and interview two of the most popular and legendary Dominican women, @cheddyg and Enerolisa Nunez of Los Congos (she's not on Instagram), during the African Diaspora Trip to Dominican Republic. For many years, these beautiful women have played an important role in maintaining and preserving the true Dominican identity by raising awareness through culture, roots, and heritage initiatives.

Women play an important role in preserving culture. Women are the primary custodians and transmitters of traditions, languages, and skills through oral storytelling, traditional arts and crafts, preparing cultural cuisine, and leading community rituals and celebrations.

To maintain identity and for the continuity of culture and heritage for many generations to come, it is imperative that we support women's roles in cultural preservation.

Celebrating Dominican culture in the Washington, DC area 🇺🇸🥰🇩🇴 at the Dominican Culture Fest. It's always a fun event to attend 🥳🔥🥰.

The beautiful thing about living in the Washington, DC area, the beautiful DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) is that we are so exposed to so many different and beautiful world cultures. It's literally where the world comes to meet and where all nationalities thrive in joy, success, and acceptance of the different people around them. This area has been my beloved home since 1996. This is where I met my first Dominicans.... This is where I learned about the Dominican Republic for the first time, and now the rest is history..... 😊😍🙏🏽🥰.

I am a proud and passionate African, celebrating and appreciating the Dominican culture, which is deeply rooted in African roots and heritage. Dominicans are family, my cousins, and the Dominican Republic is also my other home 🤩.

In my beautiful city of Washington, DC 🤩🇺🇸... These pictures are from Day 1 of participating in the first ever @fiestadc latin dance competition. Fiesta DC is the USA #1 Latin Dance event. Through my dance fashion statement, I represented the Dominican Republic, @authenticbachata, and the motherland, Africa - the mother of all Afro-Latino dance rythms. We danced up and down the streets for 6 hours non-stop. My feet hurt, but the experience was so rewarding. I was doing what I love, networking, and meeting new people with the same passions and interests as me.

It was an honor to be invited to participate in the Dominican Parade in Washington, DC. I also participated in a two day, first ever Fiesta DC Latin dance contest as one of the people representing the Dominican Republic. It was truly a fun and rewarding experience. I met wonderful people and learned a lot about different Afro-Latino cultures. The highlight country for this year's Fiesta DC was Honduras 🇭🇳, where we celebrated the Garifuna people of Honduras and danced to their beautiful afro rythms of Punta (music and dance). Wherever there's a celebration of African roots and heritage, you will see me there supporting my people and giving them a voice in any way that I can 😍🥰🌍. Please stay tuned for more videos... For inquiring minds: I'm a full blooded African. Born in Angola. My parents are from Namibia, and they also have Angolan roots/blood. Namibia and Angola are neighboring countries. I spent most of my life living outside Africa, in African Diaspora countries (USA 🇺🇸 and England 🇬🇧) where I met a lot of people of African heritage, aka afro descendants 🙏.
