For many newcomers in Canada, this hits home. When you first arrive, you’re told to “just start somewhere” — any job, any opportunity. And while that can help you get moving, it’s not the same as moving with direction.
Economic integration isn’t just about working — it’s about working towards something. Take time to define what success looks like for you in this new country:
What kind of work excites you?
What skills do you want to grow?
What kind of life do you want to build here?
Because once you have clarity, every step — no matter how small — starts taking you somewhere meaningful. 🌱

No matter how skilled or hardworking you are, your success will always be limited by the strength of your relationships.
Opportunities don’t just come from talent — they come from trust.
The people who champion you, refer you, and believe in you can change your entire path.

Most of the time, it’s not failure that stops us — it’s the fear of it.
The stories we create in our heads hurt far more than reality ever will.
Take the risk. Try the thing. Fail fast, learn faster.

Sometimes it’s not that nothing works — it’s that we’ve stopped believing it can. Learned helplessness keeps us stuck longer than failure ever will.

The power of LinkedIn isn’t in the number of connections, but in how you engage with them. Comment, share, and start a dialogue—you’ll be surprised how doors open.

𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸
If you’re working or job hunting in Canada, you’ve probably noticed that feedback here sounds… different.
Here’s a simple 2-step framework to understand it better:
✅ They’ll start with 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 — highlighting positives to keep things encouraging.
✅ Then comes 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗳 — this is the polite way of pointing out what actually needs improvement.
The key is to listen closely to the “𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗳” part—it’s polite, but it’s where growth happens.
