Breaking: Fire Reported Near NawaZi Hotel Housing Gambian Pilgrims in Mecca
A fire was reported behind the NawaZi Hotel in Mecca, where Gambian pilgrims undertaking the 2025 Hajj are currently staying.
According to a Gambian pilgrim on site, the blaze broke out behind the hotel building and not inside. Is understood that the hotel and emergency personnel have implemented safety measures, including evacuating all occupants from the premises.
The incident has prompted panic among pilgrims, with reports indicating that individuals are being moved away from the affected area.
No casualties or injuries have been confirmed so far. Monitoring and safety operations are ongoing.

Trump appeared to fall to the ground as he was giving a speech. He was quickly surrounded by armed security and stayed down for around a minute.
He then rose to his feet and pumped his fist in the air, before being escorted off stage and into a vehicle. He was then driven away from the scene.
A person believed to be a shooter at today's Donald Trump Pennsylvania rally is dead, as well as an audience member in attendance, the Butler County District Attorney has said. In addition to the two fatalities, one other person is believed to be in a critical condition.
President Joe Biden says he is "grateful" that Donald Trump is safe following a shooting at his rival's rally in Pennsylvania. "I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania," a statement from the president reads. "I'm grateful to hear that he's safe and doing well. "I'm praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. "Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. "There's no place for this kind of violence in America.
Former president Barack Obama tweeted in reaction to the shooting at his successor, Donald Trump's rally. He wrote on X: "There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy.
"Although we don't yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn't seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. "Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery."
