Since 2026 Italian conductor Alfonso Scarano is Chief Conductor & Artistic Director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán in Mérida (Mexico). For 13 years (2011–2024) Alfonso Scarano has conducted the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra in Bangkok, from 2017 until 2024 as Chief Conductor, elevating its rank at international status and shaping an unmistakable sound culture culminated with the first acclaimed European tour held in 2022, the CD recordings for Albany Records USA and the praised live performances of Bruckner and Mahler symphonies. For 15 years (2010-2025) Alfonso Scarano has conducted the Severočeská Filharmonie Teplice in Czech Republic, from 2013 until 2018 as Chief Conductor, and previously was Principal Guest Conductor of the Virtuosi di Praga (2000–2010) and Music Director and Conductor of the Toscana Opera Festival in Italy (2006–2008).
Since 2017, and currently, he regularly conducts IDSO Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra in Turkey.
