The Wrestling Universe

Ladies and gentlemen,

Today is a day I never thought would come.

Back in 2015, I started a WWE 2K Universe Mode series with nothing more than a love for professional wrestling, a controller in my hands, and a vision for stories that I wanted to tell. What began as a simple idea turned into an incredible journey that lasted over a decade.

For 11 years, week after week, we built something special together.

We created rivalries that felt real. We watched underdogs rise to the top. We witnessed shocking betrayals, unforgettable championship reigns, legendary WrestleMania moments, and careers that were built from the ground up. Some of these superstars never existed outside of our Universe Mode, but to us, they became legends.

And none of it would have mattered without you.

To everyone who tuned in every week, left a comment, liked a video, shared ideas, or simply watched from the shadows without ever saying a word—thank you. You helped turn a video game mode into a living, breathing world.

I want to be honest about why this journey is ending.

This isn't because I've lost my passion for wrestling.

It's not because I've run out of stories to tell.

The truth is, the WWE 2K series has reached a point where continuing Universe Mode has become increasingly difficult. Year after year, we've dealt with bugs, broken features, glitches, crashes, corrupted saves, and systems that often feel neglected. Many players continue to report ongoing issues with Universe Mode and other core features despite patches and updates.

For a mode built around creativity and storytelling, it has become harder and harder to tell those stories when the game itself constantly gets in the way.

I've spent countless hours fixing broken cards, recreating lost matches, rebuilding rivalries, and troubleshooting issues that should never have existed in the first place. Eventually, the time spent fighting the game became greater than the time spent enjoying it.

And when a game becomes more frustrating than fun, it's time to be honest with yourself.

So today, I officially retire from WWE 2K Universe Mode.

But I don't retire with anger.

I retire with gratitude.

I retire proud of what we accomplished.

No bug can erase the memories we've made.

No broken feature can take away the stories we created.

No yearly release can replace the journey we've shared since 2015.

This Universe Mode may be ending, but the memories will always remain.

To every champion.

To every rival.

To every custom superstar.

To every show.

To every WrestleMania.

And to every viewer who joined me along the way...

Thank you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making these last 11 years some of the most rewarding years I've ever had as a creator.

As one chapter closes, another begins.

This isn't goodbye.

It's simply the end of an era.

And what an era it was.

Thank you for watching.

Thank you for believing.

And thank you for being part of this Universe.

Forever.
