I always underestimate how long my patterns will take! I spent at least 25 hours on the written pattern/YouTube tutorial for my hamburger felt project this past week, and I still have about 20% left. I’ve loved working on it, but I could tell my mind needed a break.

I was tempted to keep pushing through the weekend (I hate when I haven’t posted anything new online!), but I also felt like I needed something that required less brainpower. So, I started working on a Halloween tablecloth! 🎃 I’ve been wanting to create more meaningful handmade holiday decor to use in my home every year.

I thrifted this tablecloth for $1 and I’m cutting out Halloween themed shapes to sew onto it. I’m so excited about how it’s coming together! 👻

Living and running my business from an apartment means storage is limited, so fabric holiday decor feels like the perfect solution. Meaningful and easy to store. 🧵

I still have a ways to go, but I really enjoyed my weekend working on this. I spent over 15 hours cutting out the fabric pieces while watching Gilmore Girls, Friendship, and listening to Christine Brown Woolley’s new audiobook. ✂️

September’s pattern is live! I named this one Gumdrop Garden. :)

Had to hit pause on the hamburger needle-book pattern so I could finish up September’s pattern for my subscription club!

I’ll have the hamburger pattern either this weekend or early next week. Do y’all have any name ideas for it??

I can’t believe September is only 4 days away. I’m so excited for y’all to see the pattern! My subscribers have been requesting more florals…so that’s all I’ll say about it. :) Here’s the color palette though!

For August, I wanted to create something soft and sweet. A gentle, melancholy goodbye to summer.

When I think of summer, I always think of The Notebook. (Spoiler alert if you haven’t seen it!) Remember the opening scene where Noah hangs off the Ferris wheel and threatens to let go unless Allie agrees to go out with him? In 2025, it’s… well, let’s just say toxic as heck. But when I first saw it 15 years ago, I thought it was romantic. Don’t worry, I’m cringing with you. :)

The whole movie is a whirlwind of emotions, and the ending is soft, beautiful, and a little sad. Which is kind of how I feel about the ending of summer.

That’s the feeling I wanted in this hoop: pastel, dreamy, and bittersweet. Here’s to one last ride on the summer Ferris wheel before the seasons change. 🌻🎡
