Welcome to the channel! If you're looking for in-depth reviews and analysis of geeky franchises, you've come to the right place. This is the home of Dragon Ball Dissection, perhaps the most exhaustive exploration of the franchise on this platform.

Have you ever wondered how Power Rangers was adapted from Super Sentai? There are videos on that too. Did you know that the first Batman movies were made in 1940s? I've covered them as well. From Final Fantasy to '80s sitcoms to '70s musicals, there is definitely something here for everybody. Be sure to check out the Playlists tab for organized collections of every topic I've created videos for.

New video every other Monday!

Oh, Zeo is live at www.patreon.com/MistareFusion and takes a look at two pairs of episodes that have EVERYTHING in common! When both shows have a monster who hacks everything, and both shows feature a baby who can destroy the city, how do I pick a winner? Does Power Rangers do it better by introducing a computer guru friend into the mix? Or can Ohranger finagle a win by adding MORE BABIES? Let's find out, a week early and ad-free as a $10+ patron! Thanks so much for your support!

Over at www.patreon.com/MistareFusion Dragon Ball Dissection's look at Jaco the Galactic Patrolman comes to a close. After it develops its own idol-worshipping, rocket-chasing, time-manipulating story, it must justify its close connection to Dragon Ball. Why does Jaco fail to catch Goku? Who is Tights's famous family? What does this story teach us about the Saiyans? And most importantly, why is Dragon Ball Minus a thing??? You won't want to miss A Dragon Ball Nitpicker's Guide to Jaco, which you can see a week early and ad-free as a $10+ patron! Thank you so, so much for your support, and I hope you enjoy this video as much as I have!

For those of you wondering where the Monday video is, it's already here at https://youtu.be/aKvkME_YLXQ . I did things a little differently, premiering the latest video last night. It was so much fun getting to chat with all of you and see your reactions in real time. But in case you missed it, there's a new Donkey Kong Dissection out right now, an hour-long journey through the fantastic Donkey Kong Country Returns. Be sure to give it a watch, and I hope you enjoy!

Hey, look at that! YouTube is finally letting me share the thumbnail to the upcoming Donkey Kong Country Returns video! Again, it's currently available on www.patreon.com/MistareFusion for $10+ patrons if you'd like to watch it now. But this is too big a video for me to release by myself. Like with Donkey Kong 64 last year and the live-action Dragon Ball films a few months ago, why don't we premiere this? Join me this Sunday night at 8 pm EDT, and we'll watch it together! I can't wait to see you there! Keep your eyes peeled later this week for a link!

Thank you so much for your patience. It's finally here at www.patreon.com/MistareFusion and I hope it's worth the wait! Over a decade after Donkey Kong 64, the Donkey Kong Country lineage returns. Created under the auspices of a new studio, Retro, does this 21st century re-imagining have what it takes to stand shoulder to shoulder with the tallest of gorillas, or is it simply aping the games of the '90s? Strap in because this is over an hour, and you can enjoy it now, a week early (well, a week late, but it's a week earlier than everyone else gets to see it) as a $10+ patron. Thanks so much for helping me over the finish line!

Also, because nothing can seemingly go as planned, YouTube is not allowing me to share the thumbnail (or any image) on this post. So if you want to see it, check out my Bluesky post, and while you're there, give me a follow! bsky.app/profile/mistarefusion.bsky.social/post/3l…

I ran myself ragged, but I wasn't able to finish the massive DKC Returns video and have to push my release schedule back a week. I'm very sorry for the delay. However, I did release 20 minutes of the video, which you can see as a $10+ patron at www.patreon.com/MistareFusion . That is about the length of one of my normal videos, at least! Thanks so much for your patience.

Again, I'm very sorry. I've tried very hard to make all my release dates this year, but this time I just couldn't. šŸ˜ž If you'd like a bit more detailed an explanation, here is the post I made to my patrons over the weekend:

Hi, everyone! As you may or may not know, my next video is the Donkey Kong Dissection episode on Donkey Kong Country Returns. I've been working on it for a while. I was collecting gameplay footage for it several months ago. Over the summer I enlisted a friend to help me get multiplayer footage. Around the same time, I organized and timestamped the many hours of footage I had compiled. Over the last three weeks I have been frantically writing, recording, and editing. And I do mean frantically. I try to keep a firm work/life balance for my own sanity. I keep to set working hours during the week, and I take the weekends off. However, I did break my own rule and worked a few hours last weekend, hoping it might give me just enough of an extra push so I could cross the finish line in time for the planned Patreon release this coming Monday. This week, work/life balance went entirely out the window. From rising to sleeping, all I've done this week is edit. I've continued to edit all morning today. And you can now see the results in the accompanying image: an editing timeline that I'm extremely proud of but which is still incomplete.

I need to stop.

If I continue working this weekend, I'm sure I can fill in that last 3-minute gap. And I might do that. But I still wouldn't be done. Do you see all those little blue shapes scattered across various clips? Those are my remaining "To-Do List" items. Believe it or not, there used to be twice as many of them as there are now! Each of those represents a line I need to re-record, an error I need to correct, an addition I want to make.

I don't think that I can or should try to squeeze all of that in what remains of the weekend while running on the fumes of energy I currently have left. As such, I'm going to call it right now. Donkey Kong Dissection is not going to be out for patrons on Monday. In fact, I'm going to say that the entire release schedule is moving forward a week. Yes, I could take a few days next week to really polish this video and get it out to you, say, Wednesday or Thursday. I doubt most of you would mind that you were getting to see it only a few days earlier than everyone else instead of a full week. But then I'd be having to rush into the next Jaco video to make up for lost time.

Frankly, it's a cycle I feel I've been stuck in all year. There hasn't been a moment this year that I have felt comfortable with how far ahead of schedule I am. There hasn't been a moment where I haven't been stressed out about creeping deadlines and the constant worry that I'm not going to make them. Up until now, I've always managed to squeak by just in the nick of time so that none of you would notice, and so that I could immediately begin the cycle of stress anew with the next video. But I can't make it this time. I tried. I really did. I'm sorry. I need an extra week. I hope all of you understand.

Here's what I will do, though, and I hope it makes up for the delay. On Monday, I will upload a segment of the new video for Early Access patrons. I'm not sure right now which section or how long said segment will be. Be aware that it might not be entirely finished and could be different in the final release. But while there is still a lot of work to do, there is far more that is actually done, and I want to share it with you!

With that, I'm going to go rest now. Thanks so much for your patience and for your support. Have a great weekend!

What do Goku's parents, Resurrection F, the Broli movie, and The Moro Arc all have in common? They all spring from Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. This may not be Dragon Ball, but it's required reading to understand ANYTHING going forward. Be sure to check it out today! Right now! https://youtu.be/hx64qyRFd14

What do Goku's parents, Resurrection F, the Broli movie, and The Moro Arc all have in common? They all spring from ideas created in Toriyama Akira's series Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which you can see at www.patreon.com/MistareFusion . This may not be Dragon Ball, per se, but it's required reading to understand ANYTHING going forward. More importantly, is it a good story in its own right or nothing more than a marketing gimmick? You can find out right now as a $10+ patron! Thanks so much for your support, and I hope you enjoy.

Oh, Zeo continues at www.patreon.com/MistareFusion with that time Kimberly breaks up with Tommy via letter so that the show can have an excuse to go on a ski vacation. What's that? Ohranger footage? Ehhhh, just throw it in wherever. Also throw in a VR Trooper, why not. It's time for the Power Rangers three-parter cobbled together from two unrelated Ohranger episodes. Can things get any more confusing? It's There's No Business Like Snow Business vs. Submit: The Refrigerator of Love and Suddenly!! A Traitor. Check it out now a week early and ad-free as a $10+ patron, and please accept my thanks for your awesome support!
