I hate that ppl are comparing Lou's cover of too sweet to the original in a bad way. Like I get it, it's not the same as the original, but isn't that the whole point of a cover? Louis's voice is a lot softer compared to Hoziers's, which is why the notes in the chorus were toned down, unlike the original. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely NOT. A cover is an opportunity to make a song your own (to an extent). Louis's voice sounds more unique because his accent is very thick, and it slips out when he sings, which makes his singing sound different to your "average" Western artist. Again, this isn't a bad thing! Plus, he might've been nervous! Every artist gets nervous from time to time, even if they've been performing for many years. What I'm trying to say is: Just cut Louis some slack. I've said this before and I'll say it again; you don't have to absolutely adore Lou or his music. Everyone has their own opinions and I respect that! But being rude to someone just because you don't really enjoy them or their music is never ok, I don't think ppl understand that. He is such an amazing musician who cares about his fans. Let him sing how HE wants to sing!!
