Workshop, Man-Cave, Shed, Garage. The perfect place to stuff around trying not to injure yourself while learning new things and indulging in the hobbies the wife wouldn't let you do in the house. Join me, James, aka Fixit Fingers, aka Zalgariath as I spend far too much time attempting and over complicating really simple things, getting them wrong, and then poorly recording the efforts on video. Expect lots of bad woodworking, terrible camera work, but at least an occasional and somewhat qualified insight into Geocaching. Mostly though, it's just me talking to myself pretending I know what I'm doing...

The 2nd Official Maker in the #ChappoChallenge25 is Mike from MJL Woodworks with a cool pallet... well, that would be a spoiler. Check it out to see. Cheers for playing along Mike, and welcome back to the Tubes after an almost 7-month break!

It is getting hard to say "His Best Work Yet" as Barber's Paddock is spitting out so many cool workshop solutions, but these DIY blast gates are next level engineering stuff, made simple for you at home. You want to see this.

#DIY doesn't have to be massive improvements. In fact most jobs can be done in under an hour, or much less, that tick something of the to-do list that has bugged you longer than the repair takes. Today's two examples are replacing the broken door stop catch on our foyer door and installing a battery touch operated under shelf light in a dark spot in the kitchen so I can see what I'm cutting. But what tools should you keep on hand for these little jobs? If only there was a video list somewhere (coming out soon π)

#ChappoChallenge25 first update time. The wifey has given me a head start in 'suggesting' what the post should become. We currently have basically no display shelves in the main living area for photos of bubba girl, momentos and such above toddler height. This dead space corner I've wanted to do something with for years seems to be the perfect place. I can get 2x 150mm wide 'L-shaped' floating shelves out of the post. My original idea is the top shelf, with angled cut-offs matching the cupboard below. But the staggered (pre-cutoff) sketch caught my eye, especially with a little chamfer detail on the end. Thoughts?! How are you all coming along with the challenge? Only 10 day left of phase one (Decide what to make) before 30 days of planning and design. (I am getting ahead of myself :P)

They don't come out often, but when they do Wes's videos are always worth a watch. Particularly if you are into no-chat-builds. Check out this beast of a table!
