Will Bell posts about personal finance, the economy, the Australian property market and home loans.
We are focussed on helping people answer the question "how do I make it financially?". It's not easy but we are big believers that you can do it.

Just a comment on Bondi.
ASIO has been warning about terrorist threats for a while now.
The government tried to ban "hate speech"
Yet we have been inundated with pictures of weekly rallies with flags of terrorist organisations and the government have stood idly by.
We immigrate people in who do not share the same values. At the same time the vast majority do not have the skills we require.
When I speak about finance and the problems this nation faces a lot of it is centred around the belief that our governments do not represent us.
To be fair we have been bought. We don't care so long as number go up. We are blind to see what we are doing to our society until it gets shoved in our faces.
Before something like this would have made me outraged. Now it's "it's is a shock but I shouldn't be surprised" like it's an old sick relative passing.
Thoughts and prayers are with victims, their families and community.

Help To Buy is here due to be released Friday, December 5 and it’s going to push the Australian property in market even higher.
I will concede. This is potentially a good idea for aspiring first homebuyers that feel trapped and locked out of this current Australian property market.
However, this does not change the fact that it is just another scheme that’s meant to help homebuyers that will inevitably end up in pushing more demand Into a housing market that is already full of demand and low on supply

Surprise surprise...our leaders are happy to spruik their "good" results but the moment they should be leaders and admit they made mistakes they are nowhere to be seen.
At some point the money printer will come out again except people will be trying to get their money out.
Don't worry. The system has been designed to stop capital flight. We can't have the system crash guys.

The Buyer's Agents now seem fatigued in Melbourne.

Inflation staying down has been holding a beach ball below water.
We got the confirmation it's headed higher. The question is how high?
Hiding the real cost of energy for a bit to fudge the numbers was obvious.
Spending in the public sector to employ people for years is taken from a socialist text book.
Accelerating population growth which means more demand for everything is a desperate ploy to solve a problem.
The problem is we are taking on debt and not creating enough goods and services to pay for the debt.
The idea of higher interest rates is that the economy feels pain and washes away the waste. The good players get left and the economy starts to prosper again once rates come down.
Our governments addiction to fiscal spending has ensured the waste has prospered.
The only solution is more pain.
I got asked why don't I like debt when assets are going up faster than wages.
All you have to do is look back to the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's.

This is the middle class getting hollowed out.
As prices of cost of living and houses increase it makes it harder for people to afford them. It means more debt which means more interest which compounds the situation as the years roll by.
It's why I don't like debt. There's a reason our parents and grand parents were allergic to it.

🔥 Here’s what’s not being said about the new reduced HECS debt bill:
The government just wiped 20% off all outstanding HECS and HELP debt.
They’ve also slashed repayments—someone on $100K goes from paying $5,500 a year down to $1,300.
That’s $20 billion in unpaid debt from the 20% cut alone.
Then add billions more in lost tax revenue from lower repayments.
All while the government has been running structural deficits for most of the last two decades.
This puts more disposable income back into the economy.
And that means one thing: it’s inflationary.
Here’s the kicker:
It boosts borrowing power.
And that means one thing for Australia—another tail wind for higher property prices.
