SMSAS is a long-established provider of teaching in Mathematics and Statistics, Financial Mathematics, and Actuarial Science, with a firmly established reputation for excellence in research.
Much of science is based upon the application of Mathematics. It provides the theoretical framework for physical sciences, for Statistics and data analysis, as well as for computer science. New discoveries within Mathematics affect our fundamental understanding of the world we live in, and the School's teaching and research reflect the diversity of Mathematics today.
We offer a range of single and joint honours degrees, postgraduate diploma programmes, Master's programmes and research programmes. Distinctive offerings include an option for students who wouldn't otherwise be eligible for degree level studies to take a Foundation Year, as well as a four year MMath programme.
