Finances With Sam

👨🏼‍🏫 Hey I’m Sam! On this channel I like to show you aspects of my financial life while giving you weekly tips to manage yours!

I preach balance, financial priorities, and having a bit of fun along the way to financial freedom. Between credit cards, debt, budgeting, spending habits, investing, and more; my channel will be uniquely mine so follow along to dive into my mind!

I’m also a huge movie/tv show geek so all my videos will have healthy amounts of clips.😂 I also love to hike, bike, wine taste, bourbon taste, workout, lounge by the pool, binge Lord Of The Rings EXTENDED VERSIONS ONLY, and basically everything in between.

I have literally never gotten a credit card retention offer.😭

They just be like “We hope you reconsider but we can proceed with cancelling your card.”

Makes it even more awkward being like “wait hold up…I change my mind.” Then hanging up.

A little secret🫣👇

The people you see who have 10+ credit cards; they likely aren’t using all of those tbh.

I dare say the average person likely doesn’t need more than 3 credit cards, 5 max. 💳

Cover your largest monthly expenses - rent (yes there’s a credit card for that now), groceries, gas, dining out and then maybe a catch all option or travel card.

A lot of these cards likely also have some overlap in rewards too.

The big money making reason people keep getting credit cards past those daily spenders…is the sign up bonuses.

That’s it. That’s where the bulk of the points are coming from and that’s where they’re getting the free travel. 🤑
