Welcome to my channel visitor! :)

I am a random car guy that loves playing a lot of racing games. My favorite racing game of all time is Gran Turismo 2 and I don't see that changing. My channel has various videos related to GT2 as a result, but I do play other racing games and show them on here.

I basically make the videos I want to make, this channel right now is a hobby. I don't know if I'll ever make a career out of it, probably not. Based on that, I don't really accept video requests.

Notes:
- I record my consoles with Roxio Game Capture HD Pro & Elgato HD60S+, but all PC recordings are done with Nvidia GeForce Experience.
- Currently edit with Sony Vegas Pro 14, sometimes Roxio Videowave.
- I create thumbnails with Affinity Photo.

So, I haven't talked about the Gran Turismo 3 Concept mod in a while. Welp, I procrastinated a bit last week on the video since I was focused on the Tokyo Game Show and other things. I'm back at it now, but I'll mention a few things about simulation mode.

- New cars in the dealership are given their own dealership images. You know, the pictures that appear when selecting a car that show a render of a car at a certain angle. Only some cars though given that this is a prototype.
- Simulation mode has new opponents in the events including Sunday Cup.
- License Tests seem to be harder, getting a Bronze in B-License for instance takes more effort for me than in the past.
- Opponents in general seem to be faster than in the base game, I can't quite keep up with Sunday Cup's new opponents in a stock Miata like I could before. In regular GT3, I could outrun them easily.
- The pricing on cars is different, JGTC Toyota Supras for instance now cost around 750k versus the 1,250,000 that the Castrol Tom's Supra was in GT3.

So, Polyphony Digital continued to do things I didn't expect. Which is something I told a user in the previous post, PD does something different compared to what I expected them to do. First by doing a 5 car update this month (I thought they would skip) and now Kaz announcing a Spec III update. I honestly thought they wouldn't go beyond Spec II. They haven't done a Spec III update since GT5 Prologue back in 2008, that was a long time ago.

Anyway, I'm a little excited by some things in the update such as the new tracks (I guess they were being saved for this update). I haven't had much experience with the newer layout of Yas Marina, but it seems like the layout was improved. I recall watching SouthPawRacer talk about the updated layout a while back. I never driven on Circuit Gilles Villeneuve before outside of an Assetto Corsa Mod, so that'll be fun. I was actually planning on putting that track in one of my "what-if" updates, but PD beat me to the punch.

Spec III has 8 cars this time, I'm guessing it's less than Spec II since we just got a 5 car update this month plus a 4 car update last month. With that said, I like the ones shown so far with the FTO GP Version R being my favorite. Can't wait to see the rest.

There's also some updated features I"m interested in like the unlimited car invitations and the increased car collection cap for instance. They should've increased that cap a long time ago.

Well, I brought it up a bit on Twitter with one comment, but I'll mention it here. Some GT fans have been pondering constantly on why PD is insistent on adding SUVs as DLC each month. The most recent example being a Toyota Rav4, one I'm very familiar with like the Honda CR-V. I see these things all of the time. Anyway, I'm going to give an answer.

The first reason might be a reference to an interview he gave back in 2023: www.gtplanet.net/yamauchi-interviews-pd-tour-20230…

He thinks it's important to cover vehicles like SUVs as their part of the future in car culture since more people are driving around in them. As much as a lot of enthusiasts have a disdain for them right now since they're everywhere, the fact they're everywhere does indicate a lot of people like having them and there's probably some enthusiasts that enjoy them even. So, Kaz wants them scanned and added to the game due to this.

Since they're the most common thing bought now seemingly, they're also technically the normal cars of today and well; Polyphony Digital has always been about adding normal cars along with the quirky or serious cars. So this is honestly a bit normal for GT still. They're taking the place of the Honda Accords and Toyota Corollas added in the past.

Now, here's the 2nd reason that they're being added. Some fans theorize them being the new "starter cars" for the next GT. Now, they're more expensive than typical starter cars in the past, but of course everything is more expensive now (because of multiple reasons I don't want to talk about). It's likely that GT8 will give us players the money required to buy one of these to compensate for the higher prices. In GT5, you could start with a Toyota Yaris, we now you'll start with a Toyota CH-R or a Honda CR-V likely. Before being able to buy the faster or more fun stuff.

Of course, are these good reasons? Well, I think they make sense, but I understand if you don't agree.

Update on the video. It's going to be focused on arcade mode, simulation mode will follow that one. I'm also getting closer to a finished project. I just need to do some checks first plus maybe make some more edits just in case.

Screenshots of my next video, a circle and a hedge road. But yeah, I'm still working on my next video with the GT3 Concept mod. I am in the editing stage though, just now making sure things look fine.

and the 4th installment of these joke updates; more 1st Gen Imprezas. Some 1997 models, 1998 models, and 1999 cars. Mainly because they're the only yeared ones in Assetto Corsa.

Another silly joke GT7 update with Subaru Imprezas. There aren't a lot of blob-eye road car mods in Assetto Corsa, so I opted to include its racing models plus a couple of bug-eye Impreza racing models.

A follow-up to my joke update with the Hawk-eye Subaru Imprezas, now the rise of Bug-eyes. A WRX Sedan, Wagon, WRX STi Sedan, the Prodrive version, and the S202.

So, silly GT7 JOKE update post time! A pack with Hawk-eye STis.

Well, what I have in Assetto Corsa at the moment. A WRX, WRX STi Type RA, WRX STi Type RA-R, and the S204. Though in reality, I would just realistically want one; probably the Type RA that was in the PS3 GT titles. With custom parts to make it look like other variations like what the blob-eye STi in GT7 right now has. Also, I want the Lancer Evo IX to have its sparring partner back.
