The Life of KT and Ngan

We’re KT and Ngan, a Black American husband and Vietnamese wife building a life together in Vietnam. With two cultures, two generations, and different perspectives, our journey is never boring.

This channel is about our real life together: marriage, family, cultural differences, food, travel, and everyday life in Vietnam.

Sometimes you’ll hear KT’s perspective. Sometimes Ngan’s. Sometimes both of us as we laugh, disagree, learn, and grow together.

We’re not relationship experts. We’re simply sharing our experiences, our stories, and the life we’re building together.

Expect honest conversations, family moments, new foods, travel, and everyday Vietnam.

The Life of KT and Ngan

We kept seeing Mặn Mòi – Ben Thanh online, and with so many people recommending it, we finally decided to experience it for ourselves.

The restaurant is known for traditional Vietnamese food and has received thousands of Google reviews, so naturally our expectations were pretty high. But as we’ve learned, a popular restaurant and a great personal experience are not always the same thing.

For this meal, we tried several dishes together, including beef porridge, morning glory, and green papaya salad. We also looked at the atmosphere, the service, the portions, and whether the total price of 1,022,700 VND, around $39 USD, felt worth it.

What made the experience especially interesting was hearing both of our perspectives.

Ngan could look at the dishes through her Vietnamese background and familiarity with local flavors, while KT experienced the meal through his own taste and expectations. Sometimes we agree immediately, and sometimes we notice completely different things. That is part of what makes trying food together so much fun for us.

So, was this really one of the best restaurants we have tried in Ho Chi Minh City?

Was it worth the price?

And would we actually return?

You’ll have to watch to hear our final thoughts. 😄

After watching, come back and tell us:

Which dish looked the best to you?

Have you eaten at Mặn Mòi before?

And what restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City should we visit next?

We are always looking for places that give us a chance to enjoy good food, learn something new, and share both sides of our experience with you.

Thank you to everyone who has watched, subscribed, commented, and supported our new channel. Every view and every comment helps us continue building this journey together.
