Snuck my Seestar S50 Pro up to the Anglo Australian Telescope last night and let the sky do its thing.

The AAT's been doing serious science on this mountain for decades. My Seestar's been doing it for about five minutes. Didn't stop us crashing the party.
Pointed the camera at the south celestial pole, let it run, and the whole sky spun around that big white dome while the gums stood there pretending not to notice. Red light on the Seestar because I'm a menace but I'm not a monster.

Massive glass. Tiny glass. Same sky.

Imaged using a Samsung S22 with the Deep Sky App and stacked and processed with Startrail and Lightroom on the phone.

200km. One month. Starts October.
I'm doing One Foot Forward again for Black Dog Institute.

My own head has had a red hot go at me. I've talked about it openly on my YouTube channel. Shutting up about it nearly cost me more than I was willing to pay, and plenty of people have messaged me about theirs since.

Walking doesn't fix a brain. The cash does something though. It goes to research, to training that gets teachers spotting a kid in trouble early, to digital tools, to suicide prevention that reaches people while there's still time.

I spend my nights pointing expensive glass at things that died before humans existed. The dark's a lot easier when you're not stuck in it on your own.
Goal is $1,000. That's soft. Let's flatten it.

Nebula Nest now has a clamshell and soon we will have two new observatories as well. Last night I installed 2 Seestars and polar aligned them by the client and tonight I have a mere 5 telescopes to finish setting up and polar align.

Another Astroworx Roll Off Roof Observatory completed!! Now for the long drive back to Melbourne from Ipswich in Queensland. Only 1600km of driving to do now.

This observatory will be fitted out with an Astroworx 12" Newtonian Telescope.

Clear moonless skies tonight, so I've got the Takahashi up at Nebula Nest going on Tarantula Nebula while I enjoy a nice can of Banks Brewing Stay In Your Lane Hazy IPA. I'm using Astroworx Starship as my imaging software, it's simple to use and I have to say I love it.
