A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Tibet Autonomous Region near the Nepal border early on January 7, 2025. The earthquake's epicenter was located 93 km northeast of Lobuche, Nepal, at a depth of 10 kilometers. Tremors were felt across northern and northeastern India, including Bihar and Assam.
