An Indian-origin bride who went viral for fixing a work bug just minutes after her wedding has responded to the online backlash.
Gauri Agarwal, co-founder and CTO of San Francisco–based startup KoyalAI, addressed the criticism after a photo of her working on her laptop in full wedding attire began circulating on social media.
While many called it a symbol of toxic hustle culture, Agarwal offered a lighter take.
“Try sitting for hours at an Indian reception, and you will want to code more than ever before,” she wrote on X, responding to a comment questioning her priorities.
The image was shared by her brother and co-founder Mehul Agarwal, who clarified that the moment was not staged.
“People romanticise startups, but it is a lot of work,” he wrote. “This is my sister, 10 minutes after the ceremony, fixing a critical bug at KoyalAI.”
He added, “Not a photo op. Our parents yelled at both of us. When people ask why we won, I’ll point to this.”
What’s your first reaction when you see someone working on their wedding day?

Kristin Cabot, former chief people officer at tech firm Astronomer, was seen hugging then-CEO Andy Byron during a Coldplay concert in July. The moment went viral after Chris Martin joked to the crowd: “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”
The video was watched millions of times, triggering memes and widespread speculation. Days later, Byron resigned and Cabot stepped down as the company announced an internal investigation.
In a recent interview, Cabot said she has struggled to find work since and has been told she is “unemployable.” She denied being in a sexual relationship with Byron, admitting only to having had a “crush” and calling the incident “a bad decision.”
“I became a meme. I was the most maligned HR manager in HR history,” she said, adding that her children continue to face embarrassment and social fallout. “It’s not over for me, and it’s not over for my kids. The harassment never ended.”
Cabot also questioned whether her former boss faced the same level of backlash, saying she bore the brunt of the abuse. “As a woman, I took the bulk of it, accusations of being a ‘gold-digger’ or ‘sleeping my way to the top,’” she said.

At a literary festival, Javed Akhtar responded to a student’s question about his earlier remarks on women and the burqa. Questioning why a woman should feel the need to cover her face, Akhtar said, “Why should you be ashamed of your face?”
He added that dignity in dressing applies to everyone, saying both men and women should dress decently, and argued that covering the face is often driven by social pressure rather than choice.
Javed further questioned a woman’s choice to cover her face and insisted that it is driven by societal pressure. “If you leave her, then why will anyone cover their face? Does she hate her face? Is she ashamed of her face? What? Why?” he asked.

In a recent interview, Imran Khan’s sons have alleged that the former Pakistan PM is being “psychologically tortured” in jail and kept in a “death cell.”
They said they haven’t spoken to their father for seven months, even as rumours about his death spread online.
Sulaiman Isa Khan claimed Imran is held in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day, with electricity sometimes cut off, and described the conditions as “substandard” and below international legal standards for prisoners.

At an event in Chennai, Rishab Shetty addressed the issue of people imitating onscreen moments linked to sacred traditions, saying such acts make him uncomfortable. Without naming anyone, his remarks came in the wake of the recent Daiva scene controversy involving Ranveer Singh.
Shetty said that while cinema involves performance, the Daiva element is sensitive and sacred, adding that he often requests people not to perform or mock it on stage because it is emotionally and spiritually deeply connected to the community.
The statement came after a video from the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa went viral where Ranveer Singh enthusiastically recalled watching Kantara in theatres and went on to imitate the Daiva scene on stage. The act sparked widespread backlash online, with many calling it disrespectful.

23-year-old Sai Jadhav, hailing from Maharashtra’s Kolhapur, made history by becoming the first woman officer to graduate from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.
She broke a 93-year-old record at the Academy which had previously seen only male cadets.
She comes from a military background that spans four generations: her great-grandfather served in the British Army, her grandfather commissioned in the Indian Army, and her father, Sandeep Jadhav, is a serving officer.
Following her family’s footsteps, Jadhav entered through special permission, cleared the national exam and SSB interview to earn her place at IMA.
Over the past six months, she underwent intensive training alongside her peers, meeting the Academy’s standards.
Jadhav has now been commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Territorial Army.
In June 2026, Jadhav will participate in the ceremonial parade at the Chetwode Building, a tradition for the IMA graduates.
Her achievement comes at a time when the Indian Army is expanding opportunities for women. Eight women cadets from the NDA’s 2022 batch are currently training at IMA.

When 5’2” meets 6’8”
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s meeting with Mozambican President Daniel Chapo in Rome went viral after cameras caught her reacting to their striking height difference during an official greeting at Palazzo Chigi.
As Meloni stepped forward, she briefly looked up at the 6’8” Chapo, smiled sheepishly, and appeared to make a quick remark as they posed for photos. The contrast was so dramatic that photographers were seen crouching, some even lying on the floor, just to fit both leaders into a single frame.
