Samay Raina is back in the news not because of a new controversy, but due to the ongoing Supreme Court proceedings in the India's Got Latent disability jokes case.

Raina had assured the court that he would engage with the Cure SMA Foundation, interact with families affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and participate in awareness efforts after jokes on the show sparked outrage. At a hearing on 14 July, the Foundation told the Supreme Court that Raina had failed to honour those assurances.

They said that although he had resumed performing comedy shows, he had neither contacted the organisation nor interacted with people living with SMA as promised. Taking note of the alleged non compliance, the top court directed him to deposit Rs. 3 lakh within two weeks after reducing the earlier Rs. 10 lakh cost.

The bench warned that if it remained dissatisfied at the next hearing, the amount could be increased to Rs. 30 lakh. It also pulled up Ranveer Allahbadia over compliance issues in the same case.

They clenched the victory that the men’s team tried for 54 years to achieve.

The women in blue created history by defeating England by 270 runs in the first ever Women's Test at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, often called the “Home of Cricket.”

Chasing 457, England were bowled out for 186 on the fourth day as Sneh Rana claimed 4 wickets, securing India's maiden Test victory at the iconic cricket ground. The match also drew a record attendance of 37,846 spectators, the highest ever for a women's Test.

After the victory, captain Harmanpreet Kaur called it a special moment for the team and said she hoped the landmark win encouraged more women's Tests at iconic venues like Lord's.

Speaking to us, Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke shared his vision for the protest and what he hopes it will achieve.

When asked whether the protesters saw him as their "hero," Dipke rejected the label, saying he did not want to be seen that way because, in his view, hero worshipping is one of the reasons Indian politics is in its current state.

The protesters were demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over the NEET paper leak, and faults in paper checking.

Sardesai's whole tweet read, "15 days and counting. Sonam Wangchuk is a man of remarkable grit. While most politicians retreat to cooler climes in summer, here is someone showing what Gandhian-style, peaceful resistance is truly about. You don’t have to agree with everything he says, but for sheer courage and conviction, he deserves a SALUTE! And an aside: when Anna Hazare fasted, we in the media covered it round the clock. On his digital show Shekhar Tonite, actor Shekhar Suman criticised politicians switching to the BJP, joking that the party should put up a sign calling itself "the finest and most trusted dry cleaner in the country." He also took a swipe at the coverage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's G7 visit by some television channels. The remarks have since gone viral. 

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has launched a FEMA investigation against businessman Dharmesh Sangani, Suman's associate and co-founder of the Shekhar Suman Film Academy, over alleged undisclosed foreign assets, foreign bank accounts and export-related irregularities. The probe is against Sangani, and the investigation is ongoing.
