From the Supreme Court judgment (01.09.2025) in your PDF:

The mandatory TET requirement comes from Section 23 of the RTE Act and NCTE notifications, which specifically apply to teachers of classes I–VIII.

That covers Primary Teachers (PRT) and Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT).

For Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), who generally teach classes IX–XII, the RTE Act and TET requirement do not directly apply.

📌 The Court’s order mainly discusses teachers up to upper primary (VIII standard) and promotions linked to those posts.
For PGTs, their eligibility is governed by recruitment rules of the respective State/Board (like CBSE, State Service Commissions, KVS, NVS), which usually require Post-Graduation + B.Ed., but not TET.

👉 In summary:

TET is mandatory for PRT and TGT.

TET is not mandatory for PGT, unless a State recruitment notification separately prescribes it.
