🍽️ GALLEY UTILITY vs BAR UTILITY 🍺

If you had the chance to start your cruise ship career today, which position would you choose?

👨‍🍳 Galley Utility – A great starting point if your dream is to become a Cook or Chef.

🍺 Bar Utility – A great choice if you’re aiming to become a Bartender and want more guest interaction and opportunities for career growth.

Both positions require hard work, discipline, and dedication. There is no “easy” job onboard—only different career paths.

In my latest video, I compare these two positions based on:
✅ Job responsibilities
✅ Workload
✅ Guest interaction
✅ Salary potential
✅ Career progression
✅ Which position is generally less physically demanding
✅ My personal recommendation based on my experience in the Bar Department

💬 Now it’s your turn!

If you were offered both positions today, which one would you choose and why? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! 👇

🚢 Your first contract is just the beginning. The right attitude, hard work, and willingness to learn will take you further than your starting position ever will.

To everyone who’s still waiting for that cruise ship opportunity…

Waiting is one of the hardest parts of the journey. You send your application, check your phone every day, and wonder if you’ll ever get that call.

But don’t let the waiting make you stop preparing.

Use this time to improve your resume, practice your interview skills, learn more about the position you’re applying for, and continue building your confidence. When the opportunity comes, you’ll be ready.

Remember, getting hired in the cruise industry isn’t always about being the fastest—it’s about being prepared when your chance finally arrives.

Your waiting season is not a wasted season. Keep believing, keep improving, and keep moving forward.

Your contract may not come today, but it could come when you least expect it.

Don’t give up. Your journey is just beginning. 🚢⚓

🚢 STORY TIME!

Do you think applying for a cruise ship job is easier today than it was years ago?

In my next video, I’ll be sharing my personal experience about how cruise ship applications have changed over the years.

We’ll talk about:
✈️ When we had to pay for our own airfare
🇺🇸 Paying for our own U.S. C1/D visa
📋 Finding out interview results from a list posted outside the agency
💻 Face-to-face interviews vs. online interviews
⏳ Joining schedules then vs. now
💼 Is experience still important to work on a cruise ship?

This is not an interview tips video—it’s a Story Time based on my own journey in the cruise ship industry.

💬 I have a question for you:

If you’ve worked on a cruise ship before, what’s one thing that was very different when you first applied?

And for aspiring crew members, would you rather experience the old application process or today’s online process?

I’d love to read your stories in the comments! 🚢
