If you are looking for a job in a restaurant or hotel let me give you advice not just as someone who worked in Food and Beverage, but as a Food & Beverage consultant and worked in Bar Department with Royal Caribbean, one of the biggest names in the hospitality industry in the world.

Don’t just send resumes online and wait. Go out there. Visit restaurants personally. Walk in as a guest first. Sit down. Observe. Feel the environment. Look at how the staff talk to each other. Are they respectful? Are they calm even when it’s busy? Do they smile naturally or look pressured? The culture of a restaurant will tell you more than any job post ever will.

Watch how the service flows. Are the servers confident? Is the kitchen organized? Is the manager present on the floor or hiding in the office? These small details matter, because the place you choose will shape your skills, your mindset, and your future.

When I worked with Royal Caribbean, we were trained to understand that service is not just a job—it’s a discipline, a mindset, and a lifestyle. The best crew members didn’t just work for salary. They worked to grow. The same applies here in the Philippines. Choose a restaurant where you can learn, not just earn.

And when you apply, walk in with confidence—but also with humility. Dress properly. Speak clearly. Be respectful. Let them feel that you are hungry to learn. Restaurants don’t just hire skills; they hire attitude, consistency, and heart.

Remember this: Every great chef, manager, servers, and cruise ship crew member started somewhere small. Washing dishes. Carrying trays. Cleaning tables. There is no shame in honest work. What matters is how you perform it and how willing you are to improve every single day.

If you stay patient, observant, and committed, the right restaurant will open doors for you—not just in the Philippines, but anywhere in the world. Hospitality rewards those who serve with excellence, integrity, and passion.

Believe in your journey. Start where you are. Learn everything you can. And one day, you’ll look back and realize that stepping into that restaurant was the first step toward a much bigger future.

Faith That Sails With You”

Today is Sunday—a day of rest, reflection, and renewal.
But for us seafarers, Sunday often looks different.

There are no church bells, no familiar pews, no family beside us.
Instead, there is the sound of the sea, the hum of the ship, and duties that don’t stop even on holy days.

And yet, God is still with us—right here, right now.

The Bible reminds us in Psalm 107:23–24:
“Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business on great waters, they see the works of the Lord.”

Every wave you cross, every sunrise you witness at sea, every storm you survive—these are reminders that God’s hand is guiding your journey.

Being a seafarer is not easy.
You carry the weight of responsibility, homesickness, fatigue, and sometimes loneliness.
You miss birthdays, anniversaries, and important moments back home—all to provide for the people you love.

But remember this: your sacrifice is seen.
If not always by people, then surely by God.

On this Sunday, pause for a moment.
Take a deep breath.
Offer a simple prayer—even in silence.

Pray for:
• Strength to finish your contract well
• Protection for your ship and crew
• Peace for your family back home
• Gratitude for the work that sustains them

You may be far from home, but you are never far from God.

Let this Sunday remind you that:
• You are not alone
• Your work has purpose
• Your journey has meaning

As the ship continues to sail, may your faith remain steady.
May God calm every storm you face—inside and out.
And may He bring you safely home in His perfect time.

🙏 Have a blessed Sunday, Seafarer.
Fair winds, calm seas, and a heart anchored in faith.

âš“ U.S. VISA INTERVIEW TIP FOR SEAFARERS âš“

If you’re preparing for your U.S. C1/D Visa interview, remember this:

✅ Be honest — especially when asked about family or relatives in the U.S.
âś… Know your vessel, position, joining date, and contract duration
âś… Answer clearly and confidently
âś… You are going to join your ship, not to migrate

The interview is short, but preparation makes a big difference.
Stay calm, be professional, and trust the process.

Good luck to all seafarers applying this year!
Your hard work will pay off. 🙏⚓

Your desire for success is the fire that keeps you moving forward, even when the journey is hard.
It is the reason you wake up tired but still choose to try again.
Success doesn’t start with luck—it starts with a strong desire, followed by effort, patience, and faith.

There will be delays, rejections, and moments of doubt.
But remember: if your desire is strong enough, quitting will never be an option.

Keep going.
What you are working hard for today will become your reality tomorrow.
✨ Your desire for success will lead you there.
