7 NON-NEGOTIABLE QUALITIES OF THE NEXT NIGERIAN PRESIDENT:
24/02/2023.
"If we do not give the 'best of us' the opportunity to lead us, 'the worst of us' will never have the opportunity to lead a better life." - Sam Manphillia.
It is no more news that Nigeria, the most populous and largest economy of Africa is getting ready to elect new leaders for the nation tomorrow Saturday 25th February, 2023.
The set of leaders to be elected tomorrow includes the office of the president and the national assembly houses.
Looking over some decades to the start of our democratic journey as a nation, it is worthy of note to say that we as a nation have never really benefitted from what should be the dividends of a true democracy.
This, partly due to many known and unknown factors and basically so because of bad leaders who get elected into public offices has been the repertoire for many years now.
The state of the nation Nigeria today has become 'not suddenly' appalling, desecrating and frustrating but has also disintegrated so much that we are now exhibiting qualities of a failed state.
Or what do we call constant fuel scarcity, economic downfalls, deepened insecurity without reprimand, call for secession of several units of the country and so many other plights that are uncommon to sane societies?
We would wonder at times what could be the real problem of Nigeria. Could it be our diversity? Maybe yes. But China and India are more diverse than we are.
Could it be the volume of our population? We are only around the sixth most populous nation on earth and every other populous nation is doing better than us.
Could it be massive land mass or paucity of natural resources in our lands? Adequate land mass and even population distribution is a blessing to every known nation and in Nigeria's case, we are blessed with too many unquantifiable land and other natural resources.
What could then be our problem? Some say it's 'bad leadership'. Well, while I agree to a certain extent, I still want to believe there's more to the factors that plague us as a nation.
For me, I'd say that Nigeria has not suffered so much from bad leadership and governance than it is has from the wrong choices we make each electoral season.
Our leaders are only products of our choices. Either that choice was bought and sold to the highest bidders never matters. Our leaders largely reflects who we are as a people. They reflect our basic value systems and characters.
Nigeria as a nation and Nigerians as a people have suffered from their deliberate and indeliberate attempt to remain ignorant about their political and social situation and the lack of genuity, resourcefulness and willingness to change the repertoire when necessary.
Nigeria seems to continue to wallow in the shadows of her own decisions. Each electoral season that passes by, we switch from a bad to worse political and social situation.
This for many years now have contributed to our lack of development as a nation. We languish in so much pains daily but it seems that we are not taught any valuable lessons from our vain struggles.
However, the criteria needed to set change and put it in motion in a democratic setting like ours is through the agency of voting.
Nevertheless, due to our insensitivity and lack of political awareness, we keep soaking ourselves deeper into the quagmire of political despondency.
It's such a bad situation that one keeps wondering if there's truly hope for the survival of this nation.
Our choices as a nation has brought us where we are today. We can no more afford to complain, blame or languish about our situation.
It's time to purge our value systems, redefine our intentions and renew our minds to appropriate what we truly deserve as a nation.
As we have once again come to that season, we are dedicating today's and tomorrow's post to examine some major qualities we think our next set of leaders, especially the next president of the nation should possess.
These qualities will help us make more profitable assessment of the leaders our political parties present before us and make the right decisions about who to vote or not. We'll list them today while we'll explain them briefly tomorrow.
1. CREDIBILITY
2. COMPETENCE
3. CAPACITY
4. CORRUPTION-FREE
5. COMPASSIONATE
6. COMMITMENT
7. COURAGE
VOTE WISELY!
VOTE FOR THE SECURITY OF YOUR LIFE & PROPERTIES!
VOTE FOR THE FUTURE OF YOUR CHILDREN!
VOTE FOR THE PROTECTION OF YOUR MOST IMPORTANT INTERESTS!
ELECTIONS DO NOT COME & GO, THEY HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

7 NON-NEGOTIABLE QUALITIES OF THE NEXT NIGERIAN PRESIDENT 2:
25/02/2023.
"The best candidate for Nigeria's presidency is the one who can unite us religiously, politically, socially and bring our multi-ethnic properties together. He's the one who has the mental, physical and intellectual capacity to deliver and has the natural love and what it takes to compel the fellowship of the Nigerian people. He has a deep understanding of the Nigerian problem and has communicated it well over the electioneering period. Vote Wisely for him." - Sam Manphillia.
Yes, today marks the day we further strengthen our democracy as a nation. And in continuation of our series from our last post, we want to explain the 7 NON-NEGOTIABLE QUALITIES THE NEXT NIGERIAN PRESIDENT SHOULD HAVE. Let's go!
1. CREDIBILITY: Why credibility? The image of Nigeria has been both locally and internationally laundered. Our nationality as Nigerians is at stake.
If you've traveled beyond the shores of this country or done business with foreigners, you'll understand better. We need a president whose reputation can repair the image of this nation. Not one who has been banned from traveling to certain countries due to criminal records and activities.
2. COMPETENCE: Why competence? Nigeria's problems are skin-deep, they extend into every facet of our political and social existence. We need a president who has a proven track record of managing state resources judiciously, actuating the potentials and the pillars of social well-being.
3. CAPACITY: Why capacity? The state of this nation needs someone with strong physical, mental and intellectual capacity. It also requires some with strong moral principles and ideologies. It requires a leader who believes more in the people than himself and is prepared to work for them.
4. CORRUPTION-FREE: Why should our next president be free of corruption? The major factor of underdevelopment bedeviling Nigeria today can be traced to corruption. If we elect a corrupt president who uses SPVs to launder state resources or has cases of illicit affairs to his name, the problem of corruption will not be effectively tackled and this will keep destroying the Nigerian image.
5. COMPASSIONATE: We need a leader who is empathetic to our problems. A leader who has a touch and feeling of what the common man goes through. Not one who is only connected to the cabals or wants to capture state resources for his family, friends and associates.
6. COMMITMENT: We need a leader who is committed to growth and development not just on personal terms but also for public good. We need someone who has scored high in his recent performance ratings on social works in areas of common social good like security, education, infrastructure and health for the common society.
7. COURAGE: Why courage? We need a president who can demand for the rule of law and order without flinching. Someone whose personal lifestyle will compel others to do what is right. Not someone whose personal interest will itself pose restrictions to development and the rule of law and order. We need an active president, not one who will rule us through proxies and loose talkers.
We need a president who can stand on stage and participate in healthy debates and conferences without fear of verbal errors and loose talks on dignified platforms. We need a president who will not be afraid of expressing himself and defending the nation in critical matters.
As you go to the polls today to express your opinion, assess your choice candidate through these seven qualities. Does he really have what it takes to exhibit them?
In all sense of justice and fair conscience, do you think your candidate has what it takes to handle the critical nature the Nigeria situation and diverse social, political and economical problems?
Vote as if your future and that of your children depends on it because it actually does! VOTE WISELY!
We pray for peaceful elections in all our territories and a positive result that will impact and change our communities for the better.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

STEPS TO DEFINING YOUR SELF-WORTH:
23/02/2023.
"Man's true feeling of worth is immaterial. His sanest ideas originate from the place of understanding one's true worth." - Sam Manphillia.
*[You cannot hand over a sick country into the hand of a sick person and want it to be healthy. You cannot hand over a dilapidated country into the hands of a corrupt man and expect it to become stabilized. The kind of leader you choose in the next two days for your country, Nigeria, will determine what the country will look like in four years to come and maybe more. Don't choose without caution. Be wise and discerning. There's nothing sensible in handing this country over to someone you know doesn't have what it takes to lead it right!]*

In our last post, we were able to examine the elements of self-worth and it's model which consist of ability, effort, performance and self-perception.
In this post, we'll see a further breakdown of these elements and model.
Just as said in the last post, the self-worth theory posits that: "an individual's main priority in life is to find self-acceptance and that self-acceptance is often found through achievement."
While it is true that our priority in life is to find self-acceptance, it is fundamentally skewed means to attain self-acceptance through achievements.
Achievements should complement what we believe in our selves, not determine whether we accept ourselves or become the template for self-acceptance.
Nevertheless, the four channels through which personal achievements are made include ability, effort, performance and self-perception.
Humans are therefore most times tempted to define their self-worth based on the things they are able to accomplish through their innate and acquired abilities and efforts.
Most times too, we make the mistake of rating our self-worth based on comparisons we make with others.
And remember, ability is anything that puts you at an edge of difference from another person. When humans therefore have certain abilities that make them achieve more than other people, they tend to rate themselves more highly than others.
Here are some breakdown of how our ability, effort, performance and self-perception tend to define our self-worth:
1. Appearance: whether measured by the number on the scale, the size of clothing worn, or the kind of attention received by others; natural beauty or possession of some natural aura that commands people's attention.
Most people who are perceived as more beautiful or handsome than others tend to rate themselves more valuable than others.
2. Net worth: This can mean income, material possessions, financial assets, or all of the above. The richer people become, the more they tend to see themselves as more valuable.
3. Who you know/your social circle: some people judge their own value and the value of others by their status and what important and influential people they know.
Adams is connected to Buhar who is the president of his country, so he sees and treats Sule who isn't even connected to a state governor or LG chairman as a slave.
4. What you do/your career: we often judge others by what they do; for example, a medical doctor is often considered more successful and valuable than a janitor or a bricklayer.
5. What you achieve: either on a personal note or as perceived by others, we frequently use achievements to determine someone’s worth (whether it’s our own worth or someone else’s), such as success in business, scores on the SATs, or placement in a marathon or other athletic challenge (Morin, 2017).
All of these frameworks are most times used to assess and define our own or other people's worth. And while these may actually reflect some truth about our worth, they are skewed in some way.
For instance, someone who became wealthy through an inheritance he got from his parents does not have what it takes to believe he's worth more than another person just because he's wealthier than them.
This is why we posit that human's sense of worth is actually immaterial. When we define ourselves based on material possessions or achievements, we limit our sense of self-perception or that of others to the quality of those materials or the time being in which they last with us.
For instance, someone who is very beautiful or wealthy suddenly losses his beauty or wealth. If his definitive property of worthiness has been based on that material possession, he'll definitely slip into a depressive state and start seeing himself as less valuable and useless.
In our next post, we'll examine how you can build a healthier sense of worth that is based on something different from your material possessions or achievements.

ELEMENTS OF BUILDING SELF-WORTH:
22/02/2023.
"When we find the usefulness of our abilities, we are encouraged to make effort towards becoming great and this in good terms improves our perception of our personal worth and value." - Sam Manphillia.
*[No nation was built in a day. Rome was not, USA and Singapore was not and Nigeria will never be. It takes a defining moment like this in the history of a nation to turn its situation around. The defining moment for Nigeria is in this election coming up three days from now. If the majority of us from all tribes, religions and regions vote in a competent, credible, capacitated and corrupt-free candidate, we would have successfully redirected and turn this country towards the path of greatness. VOTE WISELY, will you?]*

The concept of understanding one's personal worth and value revolves around the need to make positive impact.
Nobody feels able to make impact without first feeling good about themselves. The need to make impact stems from understanding that one has what it takes to add value to his society and the lives of others.
Self-worth, self-value, self-esteem are words we may use interchangeably to describe the innate feeling that makes one feel good enough about himself and therefore wants to use his potentials to provide solutions to the problems of others.
Without a sense of personal worth, one cannot feel adequate enough to use his potentials to serve others. The higher your sense of self-worth, the more confident you are on displaying your potentials and working to fulfill your purpose.
The higher one's personal worth, the more he believes that he has what it takes to make positive impact and this keeps driving him towards becoming more excellent in his doings.
There are theories that promulgate what self-worth is all about and describe the elements of the self-worth which provides the initiative for building a healthy self-esteem.
What Is the Self-Worth Theory?
The self-worth theory posits that: "an individual’s main priority in life is to find self-acceptance and that self-acceptance is often found through achievement (Covington & Beery, 1976). In turn, achievement is often found through competition with others."
"Thus, the logical conclusion is that competing with others can help us feel like we have impressive achievements under our belt, which then makes us feel proud of ourselves and enhances our acceptance of ourselves."
The theory holds that there are four main elements of the self-worth model:
1. Ability
2. Effort
3. Performance
4. Self-perception.
The first three interact with each other to determine one’s level of self-worth. One’s ability and effort predictably have a big impact on performance, and all three contribute to one’s feeling of worth and value.
However, it is worthy of note that though this theory represents a good understanding of self-worth as we want to experience it, it is limiting in a certain dimension in that we tend to place so much emphasis on our achievements rather than belief in our unique selves.
Believing more in our achievements therefore makes us feel less confident in ourselves especially when we fail or do not perform at the rate we want. This leads to a lower sense of self-worth in the aftermath.
Aside from competing and “winning” against others, some better factors contribute to our sense of self-worth.
We'll continue from here in our next post!

DEFINING YOUR WORTH 2:
21/02/2023.
"Your personal perception of your value stems out of the understanding of your purpose and abilities. The more you know about yourself, the more increased your worth becomes!" - Sam Manphillia.
*[We have just four days to determine if we want to renew the shackles that bind us to mediocrity as a nation or embrace a new light that is capable of bringing us freedom. We have just four days to choose if we want to remain under the servitude of callous, selfish and ungodly men or we're willing to change the trajectory of our leadership composition. Nigerians, the choice is before you to choose between the darkness of many years or the light that's shining today. Will you VOTE WISELY?]*

Worth is a statement of standards. Standards determine quality. Quality leads to distinction.
The more distinct a thing, product or person is, the more valuable they become. Distinction leads to higher social and economic value.
The social and economic value of a thing determines its significance to its immediate environment. It is the measure of significance a thing has that determines the level of impact it can make.
If you want to remain a high flyer in life and make impact, you must fully understand your worth. Your worth even though is immaterial controls your perception of every other qualities around you.
Your sense of value helps you determine how much respect you have for yourself which reflects in how you treat yourself and allow others to treat you.
Your capacity automatically determines your worth. You cannot be more significant than you have ability to handle well. It is therefore in the process of discovering your purpose and potentials that you find your unique worth and value.
Since your worth controls your significance, it is this understanding that will push you to always drive towards increasing your capacity.
The more capacity you have, the more room you have to make impact and become more relevant to your social and economic cycle.
In our next post, we'll examine the steps towards defining your personal worth.

DEFINING YOUR WORTH:
20/02/2023.
"Nothing defines a man's worth better than what he thinks of himself!" - Sam Manphillia.
*[We are five days away from electing the next set of leaders for our beloved country, Nigeria. Vote buying over the years has been a crippling factor of our democracy. It's a bizarre destructive element. Only a greedy man sells his vote. A shortsighted, good-for-nothing, senseless fellow without a sense of value for his and his children's future. Do not be one of them. Together, we must resist vote buying and suppression. VOTE WISELY!]*

Welcome to the seventh week of #Daily_Motivation for the year 2023. We are still on the quest to understand how to MAKE IMPACT BEYOND LIMITS in 2023.
Today, we're examining how to define your worth.
All products are sold based on their perceptive value and worth. All humans are treated based on the same criteria.
The opportunity for making impact and becoming successful in life opens up based on how valuable one continues to become over time.
The more valuable (or worthy) you are, the more opportunities open up for you to make impact and become successful.
Worth is the same thing as value and both means how good or useful something is or how important it is to people.
The highway to making impact is therefore based on how good or useful or important you are to people.
This is a critical factor that defines the impact any business, product or service makes on its target consumers.
Worth or value is the set of qualities that compels attraction, enforce connection and makes valuable transactions take place.
Without an intending customer finding a product or service valuable, they do not place their coin on it. Without people understanding your value and worth, they will not give you access to make impact.
However, you are the determinant of your own value or worth. It is your duty to define and portray it such that your targeted audience will be able to identify how useful or important you are to them.
Nobody wants to purchase a useless product. Nobody buys something they cannot benefit from. Before people will patronize you, they must be able to see how valuable you are to them.
Defining your value is therefore a step towards creating your access to making impact.
We'll continue from here in our next post.
