My Story… Part 1

I’ve been in America for over a year now.
It was 2011. I had recently broken up with my boyfriend, didn’t have a car, and was sharing a room with another girl to save money. In short, I had little money and was barely covering basic expenses.

I needed a car because public transportation in San Diego is poorly developed—you can’t get anywhere. I lived 15 minutes from the beach (by car, but without one, it was a 2-hour trip by public transport). Renting a car cost $600 a month, which I couldn’t afford.

There was only one option left—to find something, anything, that could drive!
And then I found a great option. The photo shows my first car!
For $600.
I earned the money for the car myself!
All by myself!
I remember how happy I was because now I could finally go to the beach 🏖️ on my own and not depend on anyone!!!
Such a great feeling ⚡️😍
And it was a police car! Real American police officers used to drive it, right? 👮

Also, by that time, I had started my second office job, working as an assistant at a startup for a few hours a day, and in the evenings, I rode a bike ( pedicap)

But one fine summer day, just as I was almost at work, my car started smoking from the front!!! 💨💨💨💨
I got really scared and jumped out of the car, thinking it was going to explode!
Luckily, I just had a fright. That same day, I put the car up for sale and decided to buy something better :)
A buyer was found immediately and happily took my car for a whole $500! So, I had driven it for six months and spent almost nothing!
“A true entrepreneur,” I thought at the time.

When the buyer inspected the car, he said something that I remembered:
“This car just needed a little love ❤️, change the oil, and it’ll run like new.”

And I had been driving it without even checking it!
Those words made me think…
It wasn’t just the car that lacked love in my life—I did too.

I was working without sparing myself.
Had just come out of a destructive relationship.
It was time to change something…
More on that in the next part. #subconscious #story
