Good marriages exist, and they are possible.

Be humble enough to learn, unlearn, and relearn.

Learn to be accountable. The habits that sustain a healthy marriage don't suddenly appear on your wedding day. They are built in your everyday interactions. How you respond to correction from your boss, mentor, colleagues, friends, or even younger people is a rehearsal for marriage.

If you can not be corrected without becoming defensive, offended, or disrespectful, marriage will only expose what has always been there. Marriage is a place where humility, accountability, patience, and teachability are continually required.

Build those qualities now. Develop discipline. Choose humility. Stay teachable.

Many of the problems people describe as "normal" in marriage have been strange to us. Not because we are perfect, but because healthy habits were being built long before the wedding.

Sadly, someone who got married in April has already left the marriage by June. While we may not know every detail of such situations, one thing remains true: marriages are rarely built or broken overnight. The patterns are often formed long before the vows.

People say there is no formula for a successful marriage. Perhaps there isn't a perfect formula, but there are principles. Your daily choices, your character, your response to correction, your self-control, and your willingness to grow all point in a direction.

Success and failure are often predictable because they are rooted in consistent habits.

Build the right habits today, and you'll be preparing for the future you desire.

Your habits are shaping you, whether you realize it or not. Every day, you are rehearsing the person you are becoming.

If you repeatedly practice distraction, you'll become easily distracted. If you repeatedly practice discipline, you'll become dependable. If you repeatedly practice godliness, wisdom, and excellence, those qualities will define your life.

The reverse is also true. If you practice nonchalance, avoid accountability, justify every mistake, or nurture pride and arrogance, you're quietly preparing yourself for failure. It starts with the little things, keeping your word, being responsible, accepting correction, and owning your actions.

The most dangerous place to be is when those who should correct you stop trying, not because you've become mature, but because you've become unteachable.

Remember, you're always practicing something. Make sure you're practicing the life you want to live.

Nehemiah was invited repeatedly by his enemies to "come and meet with us." It sounded like an opportunity for dialogue, but it was actually a distraction designed to stop the work God had entrusted to him. His response remains timeless:

"I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down."

Not every invitation is an opportunity. Some meetings are traps. Some relationships are distractions. Some offers are assignments that pull you away from your real assignment.

In today's world, distractions no longer knock only on doors—they arrive through notifications, trends, endless meetings, social media, and seemingly attractive opportunities. The enemy does not always stop your progress through opposition; sometimes he simply diverts your attention.

Wisdom is knowing the difference between what is good and what is God's. Stay focused on your purpose. Every "yes" to a distraction is a "no" to something more important.

Like Nehemiah, learn to say: "I cannot come down. The work is too important."
