While the video wasn't nearing completion or anything, I had gotten a really good chunk of the GX era meta history video done by around October of 2023.
2023 was in general an insane and tumultuous year for me, in terms of my personal life, but the only thing that really matters as it pertains to this channel is that I moved cross-country in October and hired movers to transport a lot of my stuff including the PC I use to make videos.
I still don't have any of my stuff and after talking to them more extensively recently it's starting to sound like they don't know where it is. What this means is that, while I have a laptop that's really powerful and suitable for video production, I don't have most of the assets and files I've been working on for the past give-or-take 2 years on it. So, if I can't get my PC, I won't have to completely start over, but I'll have to redo most of the video.
I still plan on making it, but obviously having to start over sucks, and is gonna delay the video. I'm considering making a Patreon for it now since having an active income for it now, in the moment would make it possible for me to take time away from my other work and focus on the meta history video. I'll give it more consideration, and use the response to this post to gauge interest before I decide.
Meta video is absolutely coming out today. Fully edited it last night and just woke up. About to render it and then in give or take 2-4 hours it'll be up and world peace will be achieved. Thanks again for the patience yall.
yugioh meta video is probably getting delayed until tomorrow. sorry for the wait fellas, i appreciate yall being patient 🙏 stayed up all night and missed a regional to keep working on it so don't worry, i'm going as fast as i can lmao. if i had reeeeeally cut some corners i probably could have finished it by today 100%, and while i'm still gonna have to make some concessions to get it out on time, i didn't want there to be a handful of segments toward the end with noticeably lazy editing or anything like that. so no worries, like seriously, no doomsday scenario here or whatever. the video is still coming out, and it'll be out soon, i promise.
side note - thanks to everyone for all the interest you've shown in this video. this started off as a passion project that i didn't expect to receive any attention. it's still bizarre to me that the 2002 section, which isnt even a complete video, has nearly 2 million views. I've wanted to branch out into yugioh content since like 2018 so having an audience that likes hearing me talk about it means more than i can convey with words.
anyway, while i'm here, i'm gonna leave a poll below this post about a patreon. multiple people have suggested i start one for the meta history series, and, i am willing to do it AS LONG AS there are enough people who are willing to pledge to it. it would significantly speed up the production of future parts in the series, since as i've said many times before all of the work i've done so far on this project has been for free. if you vote, please be honest. thanks again for your support and i hope yall love the video when it finally drops.
