As an iOS developer, Iโ€™ve been using Cursor regularly and recently ran into a few challenges. I already had an idea of what the issue was, but I wanted to test how smart Cursorโ€™s AI really is โ€” especially when it comes to solving complex development problems, not just quick fixes.

During the meetup, I had a 7-minute Zoom call with one of Cursorโ€™s team members (Den, I believe). I shared my feedback, explained the issue I was facing in iOS development, and we had an honest discussion about where Cursor stands today.

๐ŸŽฏ I also asked an important question:
โ€œHow fast do you think AI tools like Cursor will evolve to handle complex developer tasks? Will it take months or years?โ€

Even though I appreciate what Cursor is doing, I was transparent in my feedback:

โ€œRight now, Cursor is not as powerful as we developers expect when it comes to handling complex coding tasks. For small tasks, it performs quite well โ€” but for more advanced scenarios, it struggles. Thatโ€™s the main limitation I see with AI coding tools today.โ€

Still, the openness from the team and their willingness to improve gives me hope for the future of AI-assisted development.

๐Ÿ’ก Huge thanks to the organizers and the entire Cursor team for putting this event together. Iโ€™m excited to see how far Cursor and similar tools will go โ€” and looking forward to more meetups like this!
