Whether you're into hilarious workplace sitcoms or prefer to tune into complex political thriller series with winding storylines, the common denominator in the world's interest in any good television show is the way that the characters connect with each other — especially if there's a little romance involved.

We can't help our interest in watching true love play out over the course of several seasons. There's nothing more thrilling than seeing two characters who are destined to be together (or even just really hot for each other) finally understanding that they just can't outrun fate and subsequently consummating their feelings with a kiss.

Television has set many ships sailing off into the sunset, many of which were sealed with a kiss.

Gigi and Dani, Max and Helen, Matt and Silvie, Mira and Jonathan...their love stories, their kissing scenes... Grab your chapstick and pucker up—here are some of the best tv show (or even movie) kisses.

We'll miss you, Jesse!
'Chicago Fire' star Jesse Spencer departed the series after nearly 10 years and 200 episodes during Wednesday night's episode.
Spencer explained to People why he made the tough decision to leave the show:
"This was a difficult decision because I have loved the show from the start but there are other things that I would like to do in the future, and there's some family that I need to take care of," Spencer explained. "I was marking off these milestones and looking to the future … and it was time."
