I make art and animations.

doodoop.

I also had the pleasure of doing some animation work for ‪@leesanimating‬ on their thesis film ALL MINE, so check it out if you can! I got into animation to find friends to make art with, so I'm glad there have been so many different opportunities to do that both in and out of college!

Hey guys! it's been a long year. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. At first I was trying to get into short form content on my Instagram, then I got into as many volunteer/freelance projects as I could, and now I'm teaching a class? will let you guys know how that goes. Point is, there's been a lot going on, and I've been trying to figure out how to balance work, social life, job searching, and keeping up with a public presence. I will get better at that, I promise. For now, though, I can show you a couple of things I've been up to (and it looks like i'm gonna have to split these links into two seperate posts, so there'll be another one of these popping up in like 5 mins):

Mikey's Crash is the thesis film worked on with ‪@Chimpanxanny‬ , and we finally made it public! very proud of this, this was an insanely ambitious project and looking back it's crazy that we actually made this thing.

Hello again everybody!

Last month ‪@Chimpanxanny‬ and I finished up the thesis film we made together! We're gonna try and take it on a more formal festival run this time, so you won't see it on YouTube for a bit.

I want to make more making-of videos as well, but that's gonna be on hold while I do my summer internship, and even after that, I might not have the time. I'm looking at things differently now that I'm about to graduate. Part of me wants to set up smaller-form, smaller-cost art/animation lessons for my community, part of me wants to start making another film right away, part of me wants to spend the summer hunting for jobs, and another part of me just wants to spend time with my family.

I don't think I'll be able to do all that at once, but I'll try and figure something out. In the meantime, please give me a bit of grace!

Resumed work on the making-of video. Gonna have less time for it, but it will get done. And guys, let it be known: teleprompters are a genuine godsend for this. I remembered seeing one in a Super Eyepatch Wolf video about Nathan Fielder and trying it on a whim, it transformed me from the stammering mess that's severely delayed this project to someone genuinely capable of speaking without an "um", "uh", or "like". Still struggling to find a way to incorporate the words of the crew, and it turns out my mic for the Discord call we did for this was in the absolute shittiest state ever, but I will actually finish it.

Hey guys!
Still making progress on the making-of video. The script is mostly done and I've recorded a solid chunk of it, but real-life things have prevented me from getting to more for the time being. Gonna have a call with my crew and talk to them as well so that you can get their perspective.

Anyways, something I haven't gotten the chance to talk about: LIKE DEAD SKIN was nominated for Best Super Short Film at the Student World Impact Film Festival! It's showing tomorrow, June 19th. If you've got a bit of time, check out the show! There's a lot of great films there, it's all online, and tickets are (to the best of my knowledge) free, so there's really no downside.

Hey guys! Right now I'm working on a script for the making-of video. I think it might be a third of the way done? I'm also trying to learn blender before I start any larger film projects, and it's cutting into a bit of that time. I finished the Zelda game though, so now I'm free to live out the rest of my life.

Okay, I ran polls on this account and my Instagram (@doodoops_art on there if you wanna see more of my stuff) and the response for both was a resounding yes, so I'll get going with that. At the moment, I'm getting a little lost in that new Zelda game and submitting my semester films to festivals, so don't expect it super duper soon. I wanna make sure the video could be a useful breakdown for anyone interested in making their own film, so I'm gonna take my time on it.

That said, do any of you guys have any questions about it that you wanna ask?

Hey again everybody! I'm considering making a "making-of" video for LIKE DEAD SKIN. It was the first time I've ever directed people for an animated work, and it's definitely the largest collaboration I've done. Especially since I'm new to this, I think I've learned some really helpful things in the process.

Would that be something you guys are interested in?

Guys, my latest film is doing really really well online in a way I could never have expected. It's gotten over 500 views in a little more than 2 days, outperforming my last film by a very substantial order of magnitude. It's the first video I've made that YouTube is actively showing people, too. And the comments. The comments are so kind, and it seems like the film really connected with people. I'm thrilled that it's had this kind of response. Animation has always been a guiding force in my life. It's helped me get through hard times, and to think that my art could do the same thing for others is the realization of a childhood dream. It's surreal. Thank you all for watching!

Right now I'm thinking of doing a poll to see if you guys would be interested in a making-of video for the film. Keep an eye out for that, and again, thank you for watching!

Dunno when, but MEND recently hit 300 views! It's always a little unreal that my art has been seen by 300 people, so thank you for watching! Hopefully you'll like the next short film too!
