Hello Everyone!

It has been a HOT start to summer! We've had a heat wave that came by us and the weather is still too hot for my liking. I've been getting back out to the woods, clearing more paths, and recording more footage for this channel. I recently stumbled across this cute little Box Turtle out there! I have no idea how old this specific turtle is, but it could potentially be older than most of us! Box turtles can live to be over 100 years old!

Just giving everybody a little update about Helen. (our outdoor wild Groundhog)
She is definitely back and busy!
Helen lives under our garage and she currently has 3 entrances/exits that she has dug out on 2 different sides of the garage. 😋
The holes aren't too big, each is probably between the size of softball and volleyball, but since she tunnels all under the garage she removes the dirt through the holes. Over the years, we've had to collect the dirt mounds near the holes and redistribute the dirt in other places around our yard. We hope parts of the floor of the garage don't collapse! Other than that, we don't mind Helen's dirt mounds!
She must be digging further because a new pile of dirt is developing at one of the openings. (Picture attached to this post.)
A new video, from our yard, comes out tomorrow (#52) and Helen makes a few appearances. We've found we can now sometimes get a video recorded on Sunday to avoid some of the background construction noises near us, hopefully we might get some more videos at our place if that pattern can continue!

We made it to Spring! My wife captured this picture recently of our resident Groundhog (we call her Helen) emerging from hibernation from under our garage. We didn't see her much last Fall so it is nice to see she still lives here! Haven't seen much of her since this picture, but we are putting cantaloupe outside for her. It's gone by the next day each time we put it out, so not sure if it is her or raccoons, but somebody is getting a good meal! 😄

On another topic: We've had some comments requesting videos recorded back in our yard again. It's tough because we still have ongoing roadwork near us and now a new neighbor is building a house a few hundred feet from our yard. It means we still have lots of construction noises ongoing, which makes recording in our yard very difficult. I went through and found some footage recorded in our yard last Spring that I hadn't made into a video yet. I edited it all for the new video that is out today! (#51) https://youtu.be/-XJ_hsrgd2c

Hello Everyone!

Sorry about the lack of channel updates recently. Life sometimes throws a curveball. Without getting into all the details, at the end of November, I unexpectedly wound up being sick and in the hospital emergency room. Two emergency surgeries, an additional medical procedure, and lots of healing later – I think I’m finally getting back to a new normal!

Thankful for all the talented and compassionate medical professionals that worked on me and super thankful for my wife for being my rock through the whole ordeal.

Anyways, finally trying to focus some attention back on this channel again! Currently working on editing some footage for a new video.

Hope all of you, and your pets, are doing well out there! ❤

Hello Everyone!

It’s been a busy October. Just wrapped up editing a new Fall themed video for you all, which will be released tomorrow.

Wanted to share this picture of some cute little frogs that have been hanging out in one of our outdoor storage boxes. I haven’t seen them before and was kind of worried about how they would survive with the cold weather coming in.

Did some quick searches online and found out they are Gray Treefrogs. What’s really odd is that these frogs almost completely freeze solid during the winter! Then when the weather warms up, they thaw out and come back to life. So interesting and so strange!

Hello Everyone,

We’ve got some exciting news! All of our previously released videos have been recorded in our yard. This has presented a number of challenges when trying to record long-form videos. We live near multiple busy roads, which creates lots of traffic noise. There has also been continuing construction and repairs to these roads which causes another set of jarring noises. We have many neighbors, so we try to be respectful of them and not record their houses or yards, which limits the angles and directions we can record. They mow their lawns, do repairs to their homes, and have social gatherings – all great things, but not good for recording our videos.

Since the start of this channel gaining some popularity a few years ago, I’ve been trying to find a way to solve some of these issues with recording. About a year ago, I acquired the rights to record videos on a piece of property that isn’t our yard. It hopefully solves many of the problems listed above. The location of the property is fairly remote, in the woods, doesn’t have many neighbors, and only has one busy road nearby.

For the past year, when I’ve had free time, I’ve gone out to that property. There’s no electricity and no running water. (Plenty of mosquitos though!) The owner previously cleared part of the land many years ago and since then lots of small bushes, trees, and other brush have filled in.

I’ve cleared some paths, and installed multiple feeding stations which I have regularly been refilling. This past May is when I first started trying to record videos out there. I’m pretty excited with the results!

It turns out there are tons of animals and the area seems to be a paradise for Eastern Chipmunks! I don’t know what the future for this channel holds, but I’m hoping we might get some good new videos with new scenery and new friends! (Furry and feathered)

We will still continue to keep making videos in our own yard too. This just gives us some more freedom and variety. I don’t have a background in photography or film, so everything is an experiment and a learning process!

As always, a huge “Thank You!” goes out to all of you that watch our videos and share them with your cats, dogs, and other pets!

We hope you enjoy our next video (#43) which will be released tomorrow morning (06/27/2024), it is our first video recorded out there. The image attached to this post is a preview of the scene! Hoping for many new adventures to come!

The channel passed 18,000 subscribers! We appreciate you all that keep coming back to watch our videos. Seems that YouTube has been gradually showing this channel less and less. (Currently at about 40% of the thumbnail impressions we received back in December.) Our return viewers keep this channel going!
Currently working on finishing up a new video (#43) for everyone. It will be our longest video to date! Hopefully, if all goes well, the new video will be out later this week.

Hello Everyone!

It has been some time since last giving a channel update to you all. It’s pretty cool to report that the channel now has over 17,000 subscribers! We really appreciate all of you that continue to watch our videos and interact with us through comments and social media!

Speaking of social media: I’ve ignored Instagram for far too long. When I first set up our Instagram account, the account was instantly banned. I tried going through multiple channels with Instagram to get the obvious error on their end corrected. They didn’t correct the problem and reinstate our account for A YEAR. Since then, I’ve been wary of using the platform. I got back on there today and saw that a bunch of you have been tagging us with pictures and videos for years!

Sorry about that! I hope I’ve responded to most of your posts and comments. Sharing some of your photos below in this post. We even have some canine viewers this time!

Also, a new video (#41) is coming out tomorrow, 04/18/2024. Hope you all enjoy it!
