Muslim youth named Subhan Rangrez, who was accused of rinsing his mouth in the sacred sarovar of Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Amritsar, and making the video viral on social media, has been taken into custody by Ghaziabad Police. He was detained from the Ankur Vihar police station area and will be handed over to Punjab Police after completing legal formalities.
In the viral video, the accused is seen placing his feet in the holy water, rinsing his mouth, and spitting the water back into the sarovar, while posting it online with the caption “Muslim Sher.” The act triggered widespread anger within the Sikh community, leading to strong demands for his arrest.
Investigations revealed that Subhan stayed inside the Golden Temple complex for nearly 20 minutes, but did not pay obeisance (matha tek). In the video, he is also seen pointing his finger towards the shrine and making remarks about entering the premises while wearing a cap

Ayush Kesarwani, a Class 7 student from Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh, was abducted in a shocking incident. The family was devastated when it was revealed that the kidnappers were their own tenants, identified as Irfan Ansari and Iman, also known as Kallu.
The accused contacted Ayush’s father and demanded a ransom of ₹40 lakh. When the demand was not fulfilled, the kidnappers murdered the child in a brutal manner.
Ayush’s body was later recovered from inside a box. Post-mortem findings showed strangulation marks on his neck along with injury marks on his chest.
Following the crime, a police operation led to an exchange of gunfire. Both Irfan and Iman sustained bullet injuries during the encounter. Iman succumbed to his injuries, while Irfan is currently undergoing treatment in hospital.

Ahead of Republic Day (26 January), amid concerns over possible terrorist conspiracies, the Madhya Pradesh Police have launched a large-scale search operation—described as a “surgical strike”—against illegally residing infiltrators. Acting on directions from the central government, this special drive was conducted across 26 districts of the state, during which 3,278 suspected Bangladeshi nationals have been identified so far.
After thorough scrutiny of intelligence inputs and documents, 31 infiltrators have been deported back to Bangladesh. Security agencies are on high alert, particularly in view of inputs linked to Khalistani and Bangladeshi terrorist networks.
The biggest success of this crackdown has been recorded in Dhar district, from where the highest number—13 Bangladeshis—have been sent back. In addition, 10 from Gwalior, 3 from Jabalpur, and illegal foreign nationals from cities like Bhopal and Indore have also been expelled.
