I have to attend the ASTP training for qualified CMAs, and I’ll be staying in a hostel during the training period. Because of this, I won’t have access to my usual setup for recording videos.

So, I may not be able to upload videos until around September 20th.

A small clarification about Channel Membership ❤️

I’ve seen some comments saying that I’m “money minded” or that it’s rude to keep a membership when I already earn from YouTube ads. I completely understand that not everyone will agree with the idea of paid membership, but I’d like to explain why I introduced it.

The GST membership is ₹59 per month, which is a very nominal amount, and I receive only around 70% of the membership fee after YouTube’s share.

Also, YouTube ad revenue doesn’t work like a regular monthly salary. The earnings accumulate and are paid only after reaching the $100 threshold (around ₹8,000–₹9,000 depending on the exchange rate). In fact, I have received an AdSense payout only once so far.

And please remember that a 2-hour class doesn’t mean 2 hours of work. There is preparation, studying the provisions, working through examples, preparing notes, recording, editing and everything that goes into creating a useful class. A single video can take several hours of work behind the scenes.

I had even enquired about taking classes at a coaching institute near my home. They offered me ₹500 per hour for Foundation classes. I didn’t take it up because I may have to relocate for my campus placement.

I know many students spend ₹5,000–₹10,000 or even more for a single subject at coaching institutes. Some of them still come to YouTube because they couldn’t understand the subject properly there. I’m trying to provide quality CMA content here at a fraction of that cost.

You absolutely do not have to join the membership. If it doesn’t suit you, please continue using the free content—I’ll continue making it.

But please don’t turn a choice to charge a small amount for additional content into accusations that I’m “money minded.” ❤️

I’m a creator, but I’m also investing my time, knowledge, effort and career opportunity into creating this content. I hope that can be respected even if you choose not to become a member.

How I Scored 88 Marks in CFR

I cleared CMA Final Group 4 in my 1st attempt and scored 88 marks in Corporate Financial Reporting — higher than the marks of many All India rank holders.
Not boasting.
Okay… maybe a little. 😂 I worked for it.
The funny part? CFR was initially the subject I was most scared of. Some trainees in my office told me they couldn't clear Group 4 because of CFR. Everyone kept saying, “SFM and CFR are the toughest.” Naturally, I scared myself even more. 😭

Around 2 months before the exam, I was panic messaging everyone I knew who had cleared Group 4. And somehow ended up scoring 88.

So what changed?

I stopped relying only on CMA resources.

I thoroughly solved CA Bishnu Kedia Sir's book. If you don't have it alternatively solve:

CMA Study Material, Workbook PYQs & MTPs from June 2023 onwards.

I also watched CA Final FR revision videos by CA Aakash Kandoi Sir on YouTube and solved the questions discussed.

I spent around 4 months studying CFR alone. Yes. Four months. For one subject. 😂 I even manifested 100/100.

A little delusional? Absolutely.

Did I get 100?

No. 88. 😭😂

My exam hall strategy

People say, “Don't calculate your marks after the exam.” I agree. But I calculate them WHILE writing the exam itself 😂

I didn't start with MCQs, Business Combinations or Consolidation. I first picked questions I was confident about.

Financial Instruments + Internal Reconstruction = 14
Ind AS 102 + Valuation = 14
MCQs = 30/30
So: 14 + 14 + 30 = 58

At that point I thought "Okay. I've passed. I've got the aggregate. Whatever I write from here is bonus." 😂 Then Business Combinations:
+14 = 72
I knew Consolidation. I knew EVA and the theory. Everything was going well... Until I made a terrible decision 🤡
I saw a theory question and thought:
"They probably won't give full marks for theory. Let me attempt this other question."

WRONG DECISION.

Question 2(b) was perfect for me. But halfway through 2(a), I realised I had gone wrong. It was already 12:45 PM. I knew Consolidation. I knew the EVA, theory. But I had already chosen another question.

And just like that, my 100/100 dream was written off as an impairment loss 😂

I was still confident I'd score 80+. I had written CMAD well too. So my brain immediately opened a working paper. 70+80+40+40=230. Done. Provision for failure no longer required.

And when the result came...88. ❤️

So what took me from “CFR is terrifying” to 88 marks?

No magic trick.

I simply solved a LOT of questions and deliberately exposed myself to difficult ones instead of avoiding them.

My biggest advice:

Don't just finish the syllabus. Finish the questions.

And yes, I still think I could have scored 90+ if I'd made better choices in the exam hall.

Maybe my stupid 100/100 manifestation could have come true too. 😂

But I'll happily take my 88. ❤️

Hello everyone! ❤️

This journey took a lot from me. My sleep, my hair, countless tears, and a big part of my youth. But now I can finally say... it was all worth it.
