Just watched Disneyland Handcrafted and I’m honestly blown away. This documentary takes you on an unforgettable journey through the wild, exhilarating year that gave rise to The Happiest Place on Earth. Using rare archival footage and original audio recordings, it reveals all the extraordinary artistry, grit, and pure determination it took for hundreds of craftspeople to bring Walt Disney’s “impossible dream project” to life — from dirt, to buildings, to Opening Day on July 17, 1955.
My favorite part? Seeing how much of Disneyland was literally built old school by hand. No fancy tech, no shortcuts — just talent, sweat, and imagination. Hearing Walt express his worries and doubts, knowing how it all ends up becoming the most iconic theme park in the world… absolutely incredible. 🤯
This documentary has some of the most amazing footage I’ve ever seen of Disneyland being constructed, and it made me appreciate the park on a whole new level. LOVE THIS.
