Hi everyone! Been playing with the thought of releasing a third Sinnoh piano album recently, but for a bunch of reasons I've decided not to continue with the project. That said, I did write (and try) sheets of the two DPPt tracks I've always wanted to arrange: "Mt. Coronet" and "Team Galactic HQ". Hope you might find some fun in learning these :)

USING MY MUSIC:

Recently, a lot of people have asked me about using my music for remixes, compilations and Twitch streams! My policy has always been to allow these, but I thought to make this clear.

As of today, I’ve included in my About page that all my cover tracks are available for use on CC BY-NC terms (creativecommons.org/licenses/...), and all my original tracks are available for use on CC-BY terms (creativecommons.org/licenses/...).

Basically, in English:
1. You can use my tracks as long as you indicate my name and the track name;
2. For my cover tracks, please only use them for non-commercial purposes;
3. You don’t need to contact me for my permission—it’s already granted!

Also stay tuned for the rest of my “Copyright for Music Cover Artists” video series! I’ll do a video on Creative Commons licenses there :)

Darren Ang - Accessible VGM Piano Sheets

Hi everyone, some more serious news today; it's a more personal announcement that involves winding down the channel. Thought of doing a video update, but a wall of text probably works for now.

The short of it is: I'm not really into VGM anymore. It's been about a year of kicking the can down the road, filming massive albums during the college vacations and preparing entire series of videos in advance—but I think the time has come for me to finally throw in the towel.

Starting from today, I will be slowly bringing my VGM piano covers journey to a close. I still have about ten videos or so left (some remaining PMD videos and the Sinnoh Edition 2 album), and I will be releasing these at my own pace, without a schedule. In the meantime, I'm thinking about what I can do with this channel and the wonderful communities I have been blessed with on Discord and here on Youtube.

This does not mean that I will be closing down my channel, or my website and sheet music downloads! All my sheets and videos will always remain free, and I will not be pulling my accounts off online stores anytime soon. In fact, I'm not going to quit music—it's just that I've pretty much accomplished my mission on the VGM side of things. Having released almost 200 sheets (mostly Pokemon), which will always remain free, I'd like to finally respond to my callings towards other things.

Please don't worry about me; my life has been absolutely amazing. I'm not even going to drop off Youtube: I will still be doing law videos on my "What Is Law Even" accounts, and I intend to do a series on Youtube copyright rules at some point. I also have an album in the works—evidence that I'm not disappearing from the Internet yet! All I will be doing is winding down my VGM journey and moving towards other things.

I will bring you all further updates (along with a crash course on copyright!) in due time. But for all of you who have read this far, thank you. Thank you for being a part of my mission and this amazing community, which has been monumental to my life. It has been an amazing journey.

As a final note, our Discord community will still be operating in full swing, so you're more than welcome to join us with the link in any of my video descriptions! I'll be hanging around there in the background, and it really is an amazing place.

NEW POKEMON PIANO ALBUM: WHICH GAME?

Hey everyone! I'm almost done with shooting my upcoming Johto Towns and Routes album, and IT WILL BE IN STEREO!!! (because new mic, it sounds amazing ;w;)

For that reason and more, I'm very strongly considering doing another Pokemon main series album within the next month or so! It's just a thought as of now, but I'd just like to get an idea of the sentiments on the ground. Thing is, I've covered quite a lot of the main series tracks already, and I've got no particular inspiration on which tracks I should do next.

So please do let me know what game you'd like to see from next, and feel free to leave track suggestions (or game suggestions) in the comments! :)
