Meet NERINA! (No drawing yet bc I’m in art block (wahh)) FOR THE SPITFIRE-CREW! Made by ‪@CxndyPrimrose‬ !!

Base information:

Name: Nerina (means ‘sea nymph’)
Weapon: Spear & Dagger
Occupation: Navigator
Gender: Female
Age: 16 and a half-

She’s part dolphin & the rest is human! She has the ability of echo location which is what makes her so good at mapping and understanding the water!

She was raised in the lower outskirts of a village, taken in and adopted for many years. One day a horrible storm hit, and her father died. She was only 5 at the time, later one once she began realizing she had small fins and echolocation people assumed she was a siren and banished her. She ran having no where to go until she passed out at an abandoned light house—then she met Taisho. His ship was docked nearby and she thought she could steal some food, at the time she was only 13 and barely knew much but she did know how to tie a sturdy knot and clean. Obviously she got caught, though it wasn’t long before they found out she could physically see things by sending out a few soft clicks, she was able to tell how many peoples were in a room and what was under the water. He offered her a spot on the crew, half out of pity, half curiosity. But she’s proven herself again and again. Soon she became quite in love with the entire ‘mapping’ job, she honestly didn’t mind taking the job and already started getting more along with the crew and Taisho as time passed. Especially with how close she became with all of them due to her curiosity. Being the youngest crew member was hard especially with a tough job but she managed—and grew up! Shes 16 (and a half) now! (As stated).

She’s a bit of a picky eater but still will eat it even if she dislikes it. She’s very curious (which led to many trips to the medics 😭). She may be out going though when you first meet her she wouldn’t say a word—especially if you aren’t apart of the crew. She finds strangers revolting and alien like (says her—). Also she’s very scared of anyone outside of the crew due to trust issues. Nerina is the closest with Taisho all because he saved her in a way. You’ll always find the two together! She has big eyes can always look confused even when she isn’t, in her free time (if she ever has any) she likes drawing and helping to clean the deck, perhaps even catching up on the latest gossip. She doesn’t like loud ports or crowds, too much noise makes her dizzy or panicky. She often sleeps with her window open due to needing to hear the waves to sleep—even if it’s a storming. She has a dead name and an actual one, she didn’t decide on a name for a WHILE so the crew had to call her ‘Hey there!’ No one knows her dead name (for angst reasons it’s Maria incase you wanna know) and by no one I mean NO ONE. She was small but like golly jee she went from like 3’1 to 5’2 FAST. She cannonly cannot remember her family’s & villages faces, asking her about it makes her frown and death stare you until you go away.

Basically quiet and observant unless with the people she trusts the most (eg: medics, captain & any other high roles she would constantly be with!)
