Mother of Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah - Throughout Ismaili history, women have always been encouraged and given an important role. Our history includes many brave and powerful women who played a major role and changed the course of history. We have made a video about four brave Ismaili princesses.

When Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah was only seven years old, his father passed away, and at such a young age, he became the Imam. Throughout his childhood and upbringing, his mother always stood beside him. She was a princess of Iran who dedicated her life to supporting her son. She also worked for women's rights at a time when doing so was extremely difficult. During a serious illness, she wrote a letter to the Imam and said, "My dear son, please do not let me die without seeing you." The Imam immediately returned to see his mother. A few days later, she passed away with her head resting in her son's lap. A complete account of this story can be found in the book "The Memoirs of Aga Khan: World Enough and Time". We have also created a playlist dedicated to encouraging and highlighting Ismaili women. In this playlist, we share the stories of Ismaili women from around the world and highlight their achievements and expertise in different fields.

Ismailis are connected through the guidance of a living and present Imam, our spiritual guide. This guidance helps us understand that we are connected like the beads of a tasbih, joined together on one thread. We do not represent only one country. Wherever Ismailis live, we try to live as good and responsible citizens of that country. We do not fight or create conflict in the name of religion.

Imam Shah Karim Al-Hussaini once shared a Farman in Bombay and said that this Farman was for his spiritual daughters. The meaning of this Farman is that spiritual daughters are very important members of the family. They are not only taking care of their homes, but they are also helping to build the future. A mother should give her children the right upbringing, teach them good values, guide them toward good things, and keep her home clean and peaceful. In Islam, cleanliness is an important part of faith. Cleanliness is not only about keeping our homes and surroundings clean. It is also about keeping our hearts and minds clean. When our hearts are clean, our intentions are good, and we avoid hatred, jealousy, and negativity, Allah is pleased with us.

ઇમામ શાહ કરીમ અલ-હુસૈનીએ એક વખત બોમ્બેમાં એક ફરમાન ફરમાવ્યું હતું અને કહ્યું હતું કે આ ફરમાન તેમની આધ્યાત્મિક દીકરીઓ માટે છે.

આ ફરમાનનો અર્થ એ છે કે આધ્યાત્મિક દીકરીઓ પરિવારના ખૂબ જ મહત્વપૂર્ણ સભ્યો છે. તેઓ માત્ર પોતાના ઘરની સંભાળ જ રાખતી નથી, પરંતુ તેઓ ભવિષ્યનું નિર્માણ પણ કરી રહી છે.

માતાએ પોતાના બાળકોને યોગ્ય ઉછેર આપવો જોઈએ, તેમને સારા સંસ્કાર અને મૂલ્યો શીખવવા જોઈએ, તેમને સારી બાબતો તરફ માર્ગદર્શન આપવું જોઈએ અને પોતાના ઘરને સ્વચ્છ તથા શાંતિપૂર્ણ રાખવું જોઈએ.

ઇસ્લામમાં સફાઈને ઈમાનનો મહત્વપૂર્ણ ભાગ માનવામાં આવે છે. સફાઈ માત્ર આપણા ઘર અને આસપાસના વાતાવરણને સ્વચ્છ રાખવા પૂરતી નથી, પરંતુ આપણા મન અને હૃદયને પણ સ્વચ્છ રાખવું જરૂરી છે.

જ્યારે આપણું હૃદય સ્વચ્છ હોય, આપણી નિયત સારી હોય અને આપણે દ્વેષ, ઈર્ષ્યા તથા નકારાત્મકતાથી દૂર રહીએ, ત્યારે અલ્લાહ આપણાથી ખુશ અને રાજી થાય છે.

India holds an important place in Ismaili history. It is a land where Aga Khan I, Aga Khan II, and Aga Khan III spent significant parts of their lives. The Takht of Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah is still preserved, and Imam Shah Rahim has also visited it, as you can see in this video: https://youtu.be/ny1rtCX2WYM

When Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah was still a young child, he was entrusted with the responsibility of Imamat. At that time, some people questioned how a child could become an Imam. In a gathering, Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah said:

“Do not consider me young. We are the descendants of the Prophet and the children of Ali. Our grandfather was the one who conquered great fortresses. We are the light of his Noor.”

History later showed that he became a great leader, and the Ismaili Imams have consistently demonstrated leadership through their service to humanity. Their efforts have extended beyond the Ismaili community, contributing to education, healthcare, social development, and the well-being of wider societies.
