The Meta-owned app, which has more than 3 billion users worldwide, said the feature is optional and will roll out country by country over the coming months. Reservations are already open. Users can go to Settings > Account > Username in the latest version of the app to claim a handle before the feature goes live. Read More: https://thepointafricanews.com

Breaking News: Echoes of the Past in Liberia’s Legislature
Liberia finds itself at another politically charged crossroads as reports indicate that Yekeh Kolubah has been expelled from the House of Representatives following a two-thirds majority vote by his colleagues.
For many observers, this moment feels strikingly familiar.
Nearly a century ago, during the turbulent 1920s, Didwho Welleh Twe—a bold and outspoken figure of his time—was similarly forced out of the legislature amid rising political tensions. His removal ignited widespread national debate and left a lasting mark on Liberia’s political history.
Today, that history appears to be echoing once more.
The question now facing Liberians is both simple and profound:
Is this a matter of accountability—or an attempt to silence a dissenting voice?
What’s your take: a justified decision, or a troubling precedent?

Is it just a "technical glitch," or is the current at the border getting too hot to handle?
While the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) cites power generation issues in Guinea and maintenance on the CLSG line, the timing is raising eyebrows. With the long-standing land disputes in Lofa County reaching a boiling point and diplomatic relations under strain, many are asking: Is the darkness in Monrovia a result of a mechanical failure, or a political one?
