Chloé and sometimes Ludvig

Hej hej from the rails! I’m Chloé — a Kiwi travel creator exploring the world one awkward train moment at a time. My husband Ludvig (dry humour, Swedish passport) joins when he can.

Together, we seek out the quirkiest journeys, comfiest cabins, and always squeeze in a touch of luxury when we can (okay, that part’s mostly my idea 😅). We’re all about making travel fun, relatable, and a little bit weird — with a side of scenic magic. 💛

From epic train rides and cruises to offbeat road trips and all sorts of unexpected detours in between, we love showing you what it’s really like to explore the world — the good, the awkward, and the occasionally sleep-deprived. Whether it’s a luxury rail journey, a ferry to somewhere random, or a rental car adventure through tiny towns, we’re here for the ride.

I have travelled on a LOT of trains.

I have a frankly ridiculous list of trains I want to ride.

And somehow, until a few days before I booked it, I had NEVER heard of this one.

Meet El Chepe 🚂🇲🇽

86 tunnels. 37 bridges. An insane open air observation carriage. A railway climbing from near sea level deep into Mexico’s Sierra Madre… and eventually, Copper Canyon.

And the funniest part?

I was never supposed to be here.

This entire episode exists because another End of the Line journey fell apart at the very last minute and I had approximately four days to come up with a Plan B.

Plan B turned out to be rather spectacular.

The next End of the Line episode is coming THIS WEEKEND 🇲🇽🚂

EEEE sorry, just having a moment 😂

I just suddenly had this overwhelming urge to say THANK YOU for being here and watching me ride trains (and occasionally boats) around the world.

Because WHAT IS THIS JOB?????

I get to find some slightly ridiculous form of transport in a random corner of the planet, get on it with approximately 47 cameras, eat train snacks, stare dramatically out of windows, get far too excited about sleeper cabins… and somehow this is my actual job???

Sometimes I genuinely have these little moments where I stop and think

…wait.

People actually watch this??? 😭😂

And because you do, I get to keep doing it.

That is completely insane to me.

I don't think I'll ever stop having pinch me moments about this. I certainly never want to.

So yeah. Nothing to announce. Nothing to promote. 😂

Just having a very enthusiastic little gratitude ATTACK.

Thank you for being here. Seriously ❤️

Coolest. Job. EVER.

🚂 WOOHOO after a few weeks to catch up, I'm back this weekend with the next End of the Line episode.

In episode 4, I ride one of America's most DANGEROUS mountain railroads. And after experiencing it, I see where that name comes from...

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is a steam train from 1882 that still runs. Still!! In 2026... on the same track... with the same whistle... along the same HUGE mountains with giant drops into the river below. I was also not prepared for it to be a pilates workout. You'll see what I mean.

Cool thing is... I didn't just ride the train. I stayed the night in the old town at the End of the Line.

I hope you enjoy it! I'll be out Sunday!!

Halfway through End of the Line Season 1. Which has been your favourite so far?

I turned 36 this weekend! 🥳

Current status: still spending an unreasonable amount of my life on trains, somehow acquired two baby lambs, frequently have a duck on my shoulder and, more often than I'd like, duck poo on my clothes.

So… 36 is going well. 😂

Wouldn’t change much.

☕ INVESTIGATION TIME 🇺🇸😂

Okay Americans... I need your help on a very important matter.

Every time I order a coffee in the US, this happens:

☕ Coffee: $5 ish

Payment screen turns around...

20%
25%
30%

Me: "...ummmm... panic... okay... here's another dollar or two or three... ahhhhh... CRAP!!" 😅

And then I walk away wondering... Did I just do the normal thing?

Or have I voluntarily increased the price of every takeaway coffee I've bought in America because I'm too awkward to press "No Tip"? 😂

For context, I'm usually just ordering a plain black Americano. This soy latte pictured was a heavenly splurge.

🇳🇿 In New Zealand, tipping isn't really part of our culture, so I genuinely have no idea what's expected.

So... what's the etiquette?

☕ Do you tip for a simple takeaway coffee?

☕ Only if they make a complicated drink?

☕ Only if you're sitting in?

☕ Or is it always 'no tip' unless it's a proper sit down meal with service? 😂

Please educate the confused foreigner.

Because at this rate, I'm losing all of my travel savings. 🤣👇

🚂 A little End of the Line update!

We’re taking a tiny mid-series breather this weekend and will be back next weekend with Episode 4!

Ironically, End of the Line has turned out to be a slightly more chaotic series to make than anticipated. 😂 The last couple of weeks have involved cancelled trains, delayed trains, last-minute rerouting, an airline cancellation, approximately 47 backup plans... and me discovering that apparently filming a series about trains requires spending quite a lot of time not on trains........

SO. I’m giving myself one weekend to catch up, get home, edit, sleep 😂 and make sure the final three episodes are actually as good as I want them to be rather than rushing them out.

There are still THREE episodes to come ...and things get a little wild from here.

Thank you for following this slightly unhinged railway adventure so far. 😂❤️

Ep 3 of End of the Line is live, my friends!!!

🏔️Switzerland is eye WATERINGLY expensive. So I leave Ludvig at the hotel and take the only ticket we can afford - solo - up to the highest railway station in Europe.

The Eiger Express gondola.
A cogwheel train.
3,454 metres above sea level.
And an emergency banana that does not survive the journey.

Is CHF 211 a lot of money for a day trip up a mountain and back? Yes.

Do I buy Ludvig heart shaped apology chocolate at the summit? Obviously.

Ep 3 is on the channel now - link below👇

🚂 P.S. End of the Line is a six episode series riding the world's most dramatic railways. New episode every Sunday... unless it's Saturday. 😂 Maybe sometimes breaking into Monday territory.

Turns out uploading gets surprisingly confusing when you're constantly hopping between New Zealand, North America and wherever else trains decide to take me.

So let's just agree on this: there'll be a new episode every weekend ish.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. And thanks for reading this random little ramble. 💙

I just got a comment this week "Just wondering.. why don't you offer YouTube Membership or do Patreon?"
...and it made me realise I may have done a spectacularly bad job of mentioning it because... we actually do! 🤣 although I have started being more proactive in mentioning it in the descriptions and in videos themselves.

It's honestly become one of my favourite little communities online.

💛 Come join us here: www.patreon.com/c/chloeandludvig

I never wanted it to feel like a "please support me" page. Instead, I wanted it to feel like somewhere you actually get something for being there.

So you'll find things like:
🎥 24 hour early, ad-free access to videos
🚂 Behind-the-scenes footage that never makes the final videos
🎬 Uncut moments and extended bits
🎙️ Monthly voice notes from wherever I happen to be in the world
🗺️ Route votes where you help shape future adventures
💰 Real trip cost breakdowns (exactly what everything cost) *My favourite bit
📚 Discounts on my digital products and upcoming travel guides
🎭 End-of-series bloopers and all the awkward bits that definitely shouldn't make the documentaries... but somehow do. 😂

It's basically the extra carriage attached to the YouTube channel. ❤️

Absolutely zero pressure if it's not your thing-I'll always keep making the main videos exactly as I do now-but if you enjoy all the little behind-the-scenes bits as much as I do, we'd love to have you along for the ride. 🚂❤️

Reading through all of your comments on my recent video this week has genuinely been one of the loveliest things. Thank you, my friends!!

I’ll be honest... even looking back on it now, although I always felt safe, the whole experience still felt a little crazy and unnerving.

During the journey, I felt a little lost... Like I was never completely sure what the right move was at any given moment. I hadn't ever been in that situation before. It was all so new.

Should I speak up? Should I stay quiet?

Especially with the party crowd on that first train, I kept thinking: am I putting myself in an unnecessary situation here?

Then, on the second train in particular, I was genuinely trying to understand the culture.

I found myself wondering: is it completely out of place for me to politely ask this man to stop playing loud videos while I’m trying to sleep at 3am?

Because I am a very, VERY tactful and polite person.

But I can also be rather firm when I need to be.

Just ask Ludvig 😂

In that situation, though, I didn’t feel like I understood what was considered “normal” yet, so I said nothing.

Reading all of your comments afterwards gave me this enormous wave of support.

It suddenly felt like I wasn’t alone at all. Like you were all right there in the cabin with me, thinking the exact same things I was thinking.

Rolling your eyes at Speedo Guy too 🙄

So thank you. Truly.

Because even though I’m travelling solo in so many of these videos, I’m not actually alone.

Not even a little bit.
