for anyone who cares, i've actually managed to stop biting/picking at my nails and the skin around them.

they aren't perfect yet, but they're healing, and that's huge cuz i've had this habit since i was in first grade.
my fingers and their nerve endings will forever be damaged, but they won't be gross or bleeding or infected anymore and i won't get sick as often.
and i might "relapse" back into it at some points, but by letting them heal now, it'll be harder for my OCD to find anything to pick at in the first place. so hopefully they won't be as bad as they sometimes were ever again.
but for now i've broken the habit. even tho i forget or it's really hard sometimes, i did it. and that’s huge.

also i needed to animate pomnis hair yesterday and for the first time ever i was able to have a frame-by-frame vision of how i knew it should look! usually i think abt how it would move irl and that’s harder to picture and apply to an animation. but i actually like thought of what frames should happen when to do it and i didn’t play thru it until i finished and it came out perfect?!!! i began to learn a principle of animation on my own - follow-thru (in trad. animation; i can already do it in alight motion, though i’m sure that helped)!!! finally i can teach myself animation guys this is hugeee!!!! (i hate watching tutorials i just try to focus on how things move irl or in animated shows until i figure it out myself)

lots of posts today. hm. anyway IT FUCKING SNOWED OH MY GOD iykyk ive been waiting for so fucking long bro my life is finally like good again! my seasonal depression is finally over (hot take: summer is overrated and summer clothes are boring 🫣) and everything is so much prettier now and life is more worth it and everything is just BETTER.

for days, months, I’ve been staring out my window at the street light across the road, night after night, seeing nothing but a cold, soulless light beaming down onto the sidewalk, as i again and again pray for the snow to save me from this dreadful feeling of emptiness. but now, there is life and beauty to it, because, finally, the snow is back.
