_____With the returnees from America, now India can have 166 more labs in different zones across India____Utilize the brain gain..

BRAIN GAIN: INDIA SHOULD TURN TRUMPS TRADE GRIPES INTO INDIA’S STRENGTH THROUGH PROPER POLICIES.

India should be viewing H-1B visa returnees as "brain gain" for India to fix the painpoints pointed out by the US in the recent times and to represents a transformative shift from the longstanding narrative of brain drain, where skilled professionals emigrate for better opportunities abroad. India need to adress this issue once and for all. These returnees, often tech experts, engineers, skilled workers and managers who have worked in the U.S. under the H-1B program will bring back some valuable global expertise. And please don't invest in idea's recklessly.

For instance, professionals like those who have contributed to companies like Ola can be taken as an example of this trend; the returnees experiences from Silicon Valley can inspire India to create Indian tech giants in the field of advanced technologies and to reach its long pending dreams of achieving tech sovereignty. This influx can also elevate local industries in various sectors across India and create jobs, with returnee-founded startups throughout India. Moreover, government initiatives like Startup India and improved infrastructure in tech hubs like Bengaluru have accelerated this reverse migration, other cities of India too should see this happen; turning potential losses into strategic assets will position India as a global tech powerhouse.

China has already harnessed brain gain through its own wave of returnees from the U.S., many H-1B visa holders or similar skilled migrants in fields like semiconductors, biotechnology and e-commerce have contributed to China's rapid technological ascent. The returnees have fueled China's innovation hubs in Shenzhen and Beijing, leading to breakthroughs in 5G, electric vehicles (e.g., via companies like BYD) and quantum computing.

Beyond India and China, other nations have reaped brain gain benefits from returning expatriates, demonstrating the model's universality. Taiwan, for example, owes much of its semiconductor dominance to returnees like those who trained in the U.S. and founded TSMC, the world's largest chipmaker, which powers global electronics and has made Taiwan a critical player in supply chains. South Korea's chaebols, such as Samsung, have similarly benefited from engineers returning from Silicon Valley stints, applying expertise in display technology and memory chips to propel the country to tech leadership. Israel, often called the "Startup Nation," attracts returnees through programs like the Israel Innovation Authority, where U.S.-educated entrepreneurs have launched cybersecurity firms like Check Point, enhancing national security and exporting innovations worldwide. These cases illustrate how strategic policies and economic opportunities can convert this loss into a cycle of enriched human capital, driving sustained national progress in the long term.

Don't get surprised if team Trump goes down to slap a $50,000 annual fees on Indian YouTube content creators next!

However, If President Trump shifts the H-1B visa policy from an annual $100,000 fee to a one-time $100,000 payment, Indian workers—who account for roughly 72% of H-1B approvals—should demand wages for all their services at par with their American counterparts or more (whatever suits them ) working in the same roles.
