Welcome to Nytalite’s VHS Archive! My name is Justin. I am in the process of digitizing my family’s VHS tapes, and I’ve created this channel to upload their content. My channel primarily focuses on advertisements from Washington, DC and (sometimes) Boston.
All videos uploaded to this channel are for preservation purposes only and are not indicative of my personal views.
If you'd like to support my work, I will take donations of tapes and equipment! I also do paid digitization services. You can learn more here: vhsarchivedonation.nytalite.com (redirects to Google Docs)
COPYRIGHT NOTICE: I do not own most of the content on this channel, and it is being uploaded for preservation purposes. It is fair use, and no copyright infringement is intended. If you are the copyright owner and wish to have something removed, please be considerate and contact me first.

Starting tomorrow night at 6:00 PM EST (UTC-5), I will finally resume the previous long-form video schedule and even go a step further. New long-form videos will be released on the 1st and 16th of every month.
Tomorrow's video will be a remaster of a previously uploaded video, but I now have TONS of "new" long-form content I can upload. I hope you'll enjoy what is coming!

It's a work in progress, to say the least...

I have several ads featuring a pre-politics Donald Trump that I plan to upload. I am aware that it could potentially attract complaints, so I wanted to post this reminder.
Anything I upload to this channel, including videos that tailor to certain partisan or religious views, is uploaded for preservation purposes only and is NOT indicative of my personal views. What’s the point of operating a preservation channel if you have that type of bias?

On top of finals, I am currently working on an influx of family videos. The files generated by the Blackmagic software are absolutely enormous, and it threw me off when figuring out how to store them (which is why I downloaded an old version of OBS).
My best broadcast tapes have already been re-digitized; however, the family videos have priority right now.

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, but I made an unfortunate miscalculation that was met with another major blow. The capture card I bought only works with Intel-based Macs (thankfully, I got a refund), and the Intel Mac I had since 2015 broke and would have cost over $500 to repair. As it was probably only worth $100 due to its poor condition, I deemed it not worth it.
I have someone who is willing to give me their old Intel Mac, though. It just needs testing to make sure it’s fast enough.

I’ve been having some trouble with my capture card. It has been consistently failing to provide a good master, and it was to the point where I had to replace it. When the new capture card arrives and I’ve redone some of my masters, I will start uploading again.
In the meantime, I found another Betamax VCR at a thrift store, and this one had a tape inside. The tape has two audio-only recordings of music programs on WAMU, so I’ve decided I’m going to give the file to @dmvaudioarchive8530 .

I've been silently taking a break from uploading due to college work. Now that I have a break, I am working on the next queue of videos. I will be back on Sunday, and there will be daily videos until November 13th.
I'll see you on Sunday at 6:00 PM EST (UTC-5)!

I’m taking the rest of this week off from uploading. I have a lot of college work to do, and that is more important.
I will see you all on Monday!

Today’s upload is being postponed to tomorrow. While I have a video (mostly) ready to go, this is one of those ads that needs a custom thumbnail. I also had other things to do this evening.
